Hell yeah Mize. Let’s fucking go. Struggled with a lot of 3 ball counts, but didn’t walk anybody. Struck out 7. Probably done after. 5 due to pitch count.
I heard Thursday or Friday, but he missed both of those games. Hopefully tomorrow, but it’s weird nobody is reporting on. he said in some radio interview on Monday, he’d want to get back by end of this homestand.
Remember a month ago yall were writing off Mize and saying Singer is better Singer is now 2-4 with a 4.91 era and Mize is down to 3.28 Little early to completely write of Manning too
Hell yeah grossman. and Fire shepherd. How did you not know that was gone you stupid fuck. What an awful home run call.
Fangraphs prospect guy did a chat yesterday and said, based on what he's hearing, he'd have Mayer #1 if he did a mock today.
Had such a great time last night. Obviously a walkoff HR is awesome but would have been sweet regardless of how the game went. Comerica is so easy to access (I parked in a garage by the Marriott by the tunnel to Windsor), tons of stuff around the park, gorgeous stadium. And legal weed enhancing all of that. Downtown Detroit is top notch
Grossman and Candelario would be really solid backend of the lineup guys on a contending team. Having them as the only 2 legit major league offensive players in the lineup is pretty rough.
The problem with Candelario is he's a good hitter on this team, but he plays positions that are deep and everyone is supposed to hit. I like him, but this is why Chicago was fine with trading him. A wRC+ of 117 is 17% above league average, but ranks 11th among 3B and would be 16th among 1B. If your 3B or 1B is hitting 6th or 7th, you either have an all-time line-up or your 1B/3B isn't hitting as well as other teams' players at those positions. Grossman could hit at or near the top of the order for good teams, depending on how you want to construct your line-up. He's 11th out of 58 qualifying OFs in OBP (.377). That plays anywhere, but especially at the top.
I'm not saying we're good. Don't yell at me. Just posting this because it's nice they're actually competing and are worth watching most nights the last 3-4 weeks.
Also who the hell is Yariel Gonzalez. Looking at mud hens box score and he is hitting. 370 with 7 HR so far

A few weeks ago ITT Singer was a better pitcher than Mize and Tigers should have taken Martin over Tork. I posted comparable numbers of Mize and Singer yesterday, but now Tork has a .801 ops, Martin .731 and 0 HR
He has started his last 3 games (6 of his last 9) at 1B. I wonder if they leave him there in hopes this continues at the plate. They should, considering we have no one at 1B on the big league club or the system.
I’m not one to put much stock in baseball managers, but Hinch seems like he makes a tangible difference with this shit show. Thank god he cheated.
He was awful to start. I think he was hitting sub-.100 after the first 10 days or so, but has especially picked things up in the last week. Kind of the opposite of Dingler, who started off hot and has cooled a bit recently.
I believe a win today would clinch the Tigers' first winning month since May of 2018 (not counting July last year when we went 5-3). The second winning month since the start of the 2017 season.
I think he has better stuff than Mize, just needs to put it together. If not, he still can be a solid 3/4 starter on a good team.
