Wright St can be pesky. Liberty and Duke also in Knoxville So Bama UNC and LSU take a spot away from Ball St. Lame. Bama's coach doesn't deserve a bid on his resume for this season of work 9 SEC teams in. 8 ACC. 6 Pac 12
final two teams in each Regional with winners in bold Fayetteville: Arkansas and Northeastern Ruston: NC St and LA Tech Austin: Texas and ASU Gainesville: Florida and Miami Knoxville: Tennessee and Duke Eugene: Oregon and LSU Nashville: Vandy and IN St Greenville: ECU and Maryland Tucson: Arizona and OK St Oxford: Ole Miss and FSU Fort Worth: Oregon St and DBU Columbia: South Carolina and ODU Starkville: Miss St and VCU (this is the kind of group Arkansas would get in a world where the committee assigns teams on merit or objective criteria) South Bend: ND and Michigan Lubbock: TTU and UCLA Stanford: Irvine and Stanford should be some awesome Super Regionals Omaha Eight: Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, ECU, Arizona, Oregon St, ND, Irvine
Look forward to seeing us do absolutely dick in the post-season like always. Fucking horseshit sport.
Have not nearly spent as much time in previous years but here’s how I see it shaking out. Regional Winners Arkansas NC State Stanford Texas Tech Oklahoma St. Ole Miss Charlotte Vandy Texas Florida Notes Dame Miss. St. TCU South Carolina LSU Duke Super Regional Winners Arkansas Texas Tech Oklahoma St. Vandy Texas Miss. St. TCU Duke
not bad, but I think AZ, Ole Miss or Southern Miss comes out of that super over OK State. Maybe even FSU
If any #Nebraska Cornhuskers fans need tickets to non Arkansas games I'll hook you up. Have two tickets I'll trade for likes
I have a buddy who is from Southern Mo that wants to go. Thinking about it if he can get off work Saturday.
Anybody else just counting down the hours until Friday? I don’t feel like I’m going to be productive this week.
As much as I'd like to get an easier opponent, part of me is pulling for an Ole Miss/Arizona super. I have a buddy who lives in Phoenix and could pretty easily make the trip out there.
Ranking the Toughest Regionals in the NCAA Tournament John Peters The NCAA Tournament Field of 64 wasreleased on Monday, and as always, therewere a few surprises. Fairfield snuck intournament after a 37-3 year in the MAAC,Mississippi State and Texas Tech snagged topeight seeds, and LSU and Paul Mainieri willhave shot at an NCAA Tournament run. Ofcourse, some Regionals are tougher thanothers, and we've got them all ranked for you. 16. Austin Number two overall seed, Texas, received themost favorable draw of any host. Arizona Stateat 16-14 in the Pac-12 had just one series winover teams from the field of 64 (OregonState). On top of that, the Sun Devils have hada host of pitching injuries. Fairfield is aninteresting at-large selection (37-3 overall). The Stags make for a great story, but Texashas them completely outmatched. 15. Starkville Mississippi State (7) not only has to be happyto receive a top eight seed, but Bulldogs fansshould be ecstatic about the draw theyreceived. VCU, the automatic bid from theAtlantic Ten, has not won a series against atournament team and has only five winsagainst teams in the field. Campbell's bestseries win is against Liberty. Mississippi Statewill be heavily favored in this Regional. 14. Nashville Fourth-seeded Vanderbilt is joined by GeorgiaTech, Indiana State, and Presbyterian.Vanderbilt Head Coach Tim Corbin started hiscoaching career at Presbyterian, but theCommodores should have no trouble with thatfirst-round matchup. Georgia Tech recentlymade the ACC Tournament semifinals, but isonly 2-3 in series down the stretch (includinga series loss to Kennesaw State). Indiana Statedid have a nice series split at Tennessee. 13. Greenville While ECU fans might have been hoping for ahigher seed than 13, the Pirates' Regional setsup really nicely for a Super Regionalappearance. The Pirates have already sweptCharlotte on the year. Maryland is a little bit ofa wildcard from the Big Ten. Don't besurprised if the Terps appear in the Regionalfinal. 12. Lubbock Texas Tech (8) was not projected to be a topeight seed by most national media, but throwthat out the window because the committeehas spoken. UCLA is an interesting team thathas a high ceiling but has struggled withconsistency. The Bruins have lost series toSan Francisco, Cal Poly, Washington, and Cal.North Carolina escaped the blood bath of theACC at 27-25. Army did chase Lehigh staterand MLB Draft prospect, Mason Black, afterjust a few innings in the Patriot LeagueChampionship Series, so the Black Knightswon't be an easy out. 11. Eugene Oregon (14) was almost guaranteed to bejoined by fellow Pacific Northwest team,Gonzaga. The Zags just announced thatSaturday starter, Gabriel Hughes, will be outfor the Regional, which makes Oregon's path agood amount easier. LSU is an intriguing threeseed. The Tigers will surely be playing withemotion as Paul Mainieri makes his swan song. 10. Fort Worth TCU (6) is paired up against a solid McNeeseteam as its four seed. Oregon State is anothertwo seed where it's really difficult to nail downtheir best series win. The Beavers have takencare of business when they should have andlost all of their series against better teams.Kevin Abel will be one of the best arms in thetournament. Dallas Baptist also has a host ofsolid arms, and it will be interesting to see ifAbel gets the start for the Beavers againstDBU. 9. Gainesville Florida (15) was the preseason number oneteam for a reason. The Gators are one of themost talented teams in the country and couldeasily put together a deep tournament run. They'll have to get past Miami, who hasalready beaten the Gators in Gainesville thisseason. South Alabama won the Sun Belt, butthe league was the weakest it's been in years. This Regional feels like a tossup betweenFlorida and Miami. 8. Fayetteville The Hogs (1) weren't done any favors by thecommittee. Nebraska, the Big Ten champions,is one of the toughest two seeds in thebracket. Northeastern (Colonial champion)and NJIT (America East champion) are a littleless intimidating. 7. Stanford Stanford (9) seems to have a fair Regional. The Cardinal will host UC Irvine, the Big Westchampion. Stanford beat the Anteaters inthree out of four games earlier this season.Nevada from the Mountain West is aninteresting three seed. With over 11 hits pergame, the Wolfpack is fifth in the country inthat statistic. We'll see how that plays in a not-so-offensive ballpark in Sunken Diamond. 6. Ruston Louisiana Tech (16) made a run to the C-USATournament final to earn a top 16 seed. Theirreward? They get an NC State team that is oneof the hottest teams in the country as theirtwo seed. Alabama as a three seed is a littlebit of a wildcard. The Tide faced one of thetoughest schedules in the country but onlywon 14 SEC games. 5. South Bend It's safe to say that most of country wassurprised when Notre Dame (10), the runawayACC Champions, didn't earn a top eight seed.Their RPI didn't do them any favors. NotreDame will have an intriguing four seed inCentral Michigan (MAC Champions). UConn, winner of ten of its last eleven games, is aformidable two seed. The Huskies are battledtested, having traveled to Texas Tech, Virginia, and Southern Miss this year already. The third-seeded Michigan Wolverines are lacking thestar power that led to a National Runner-Upfinish in 2019 but should still be competitive inthis Regional. 4. Columbia Old Dominion (11) will be a traveling one seedas the Monarchs head to South Carolina fortheir Regional. South Carolina has the arms tomake an Omaha run, and when you add inVirginia, one of the hottest teams in thecountry, this Regional has three legitimateOmaha contenders. 3. Oxford Ole Miss (12) received one of the toughestRegionals in the country. Southern Miss isallowing just 3.9 runs per game (good for ninthin the country), and Florida State was under-seeded as a three seed. This Regional is athree-team race. 2. Tucson In a normal year, Arizona (5) would likely notbe playing host to Oklahoma State as a twoseed. The Cowboys' run to the Big 12Championship game pushed their RPI up to14, and Oklahoma State could very well behosting. UCSB has shown they can go toe-to-toe with UCLA and Oregon from the Pac-12(though they were 1-6 in those games). GrandCanyon has already beaten Arizona once thisseason and went 0-2-1 in a competitive seriesat Oklahoma State. GCU is one of thetoughest four seeds in the tournament. 1. Knoxville Speaking of tough four seeds, Wright State inTennessee's (3) Regional might be the mostunder-seeded team in the entire tournament. The RPI of 27 from a non-major conferencenormally should get Wright State at least athree seed. Meanwhile, the two seed in theKnoxville Regional is Duke, the ACC Championand a team that is on an absolute tear rightnow. Liberty, the three seed, has seven winsagainst teams in the field of 64. This is a toughRegional.
