There’s no charger there but you can hook up your own for free. At least two in there charging every night. Plenty of outlets. Would be slow but free is free

I’ve gotten the opposite reaction from a lot of people on my car, even from folks that aren’t EV people. Nobody is going to like everything though.

We just found out/realized that my wifes lease is up in 10 days. We are now scrambling to figure out what to do. I may cancel the Tesla and just get her into a cheap car (new camry/altima,accord) and then let her get the Y or whatever she wants when my lease is up in 14 months.

What’s the gap to the estimated delivery date? Personally I’d find a gap filler, whether that’s an extension on the turn in, loaner, rental, or making due with 1.

Bunch of Y’s and some 3’s showing in existing inventory on Tesla’s site now. Was empty a few weeks ago.

Gap is 1-9 weeks based on the 4-12 a couple weeks ago and her car being up in about a week. We went to a Toyota dealer and drove a Camry SE and she was confused at how slow it was. We then test drove the Camry XSE V6 and it was better but still really slow to her.

I felt like I was pressuring her into going w the Y and ever since I’ve pushed other vehicles she wants the Y again.... I think we should be able to extend her Alfa lease a month or two if needed

Rentals are $1600/month right now bc of the vehicle shortage. I reached out to a friend who works at Enterprise and he said he could get me one for hopefully 1k/month after taxes, but said I’d be better off extending lease If possible.

People are dropping orders and things. I just happened across mine 2 hours away. I used the Ford inventory locator as a starting point and most were spoken for or demos. What’s the color(s) battery, drive, and trim you’re looking at? I can keep eyes out in various pages.

How is the charging network? One big draw to Tesla was that their network has already been expanded to cover pretty much everywhere we would drive.

I just looked in our area and there are several within 100 miles. I guess my wife didn't google very hard.

It says the Ford Mach-E goes a max of 0-60 in 6.1 seconds unless you get the GT. That sounds really slow.

The DC fast charging network is pretty good from everything I’ve seen. There’s much less consistency than Tesla because the CCS plug is offered by a variety of manufacturers/vendors. It’s not quite as mindless as Tesla, but I’ve found that it’s not a big deal. The only time a charge network really comes into play is when you’re going 150 miles one way from home. Other than that you’re likely charging at home or work the majority of the time. It’s much less of an issue than it initially appears it might be. Infrastructure is continuing to grow as well. I live in one of the last places to adopt anything and I’ve been fine. Everyone I’ve watched or talked to in person about this indicates that the charging infrastructure is light years ahead away from the middle of the country.

I have AWD premium and it’s listed 4.8. I’ve done 5.0 based on timing apps. Bigger battery and dual motors improve the quickness. Your slowest will be the standard range rwd. It feels powerful to me coming from 4-cylinder fuel efficiency type vehicles.

Funny you say that, that's the one we're contemplating getting. I called and they had it. They're calling me today to see. With tax/fees it'll be closer to 61k which I'm not too thrilled with.

    We keep waivering.

If you get one with a qualifying tax credit in 2021 (Ford) you’re saving about 13k in gas and tax credit over 5 years/75k miles. About 5500 with Tesla. Depreciation appears to be at a lower rate on EVs. That puts these a lot closer than it seems, especially if you’ll have a payment vs paying cash.

I'm still really hoping that my Tesla order will qualify for a tax credit come April 2022. Haven't gotten it yet, and I'm not sure what the technical "buy date" would be for a Tesla where you put in an order but don't pay until you pick up.

I haven't been following the tax credit situation but I thought you didn't get one with Tesla? I'm probably going to buy a model Y at the end of summer but if there's a tax credit on the horizon, I would probably wait until 22.

The latest I saw was a bill pass out of committee that would provide like 12K if the car was made in the US by Union workers, 10K if without union, and 7.5K for anything else, and remove the current cap on number sold though it would add a new cap based on cost. But it states that it would start with cars sold in 2022, so nothing this year as written.

I wonder if this is a way to help with overall battery production. Feel like that's going to be the biggest obstacle for EV's moving forward, just being able to produce enough batteries to keep up with demand.

It took a week and a half before I got the text to schedule. And then it said no appointments available, so I called, they did something on their end, and I got dates. Date I should say, in that I had one option for 6/18 at 9am Home Delivery.

Some real world data after having the model 3 for a few days:

I’ve driven 282 miles and used 70 kWh.

My avg electricity rate at my house is 9c per kWh (8.1c for first 1000 and 9.9c for anything over 1000).

So for 282 miles it has cost me $6.30.

Gas around me is $2.95 so that’s the equivalent of 132mpg.

We reserved ours May 21 and decided (for the moment) to stick with the Tesla Y. I hadn't filled in the finance information yet because I wasn't sure if we were going to even go with Tesla and if we did, I wasn't sure if I could get a better rate somewhere else.

Did that push me back in line? It now says estimated delivery is August 8 - September 7 and it was 6-12 weeks when we reserved.

That would be July 2 - August 13. How is it pushing it back an entire month past?

I read that they don’t deliver any cars domestically in the first month of the quarter so August makes sense as far as your timeline goes.
