Is that the mission entitled Top Secret Orders? If so, I spent 30 minutes of sheer embarrassment trying to beat that fucker. Then I upgraded my cannons and hull and three-shot killed that bitch. Equipment is super important, always have the best upgrades you can afford.
I've been upgrading, thought I'd have enough to beat him but don't. The upgrade system is tough, like I have level 14 cannons that on paper look a lot better than the level 18 cannons I can buy. But I don't know, are they actually better?
my experience is that the level isn't super important, it kinda depends on what you want to do to the boat. Some of them have a voodoo adder (the green stuff) that kills the crew faster, some add hit points to the hull or sails or whatever. I don't see a lot of reason to use anything other than the highest damage cannons and cannon balls, just knock out their hull and they sink. There doesn't seem to be an incentive to kill the crew or damage the sails, because at this point I don't see that you can capture boats, just sink them. Make sure you are using your points to upgrade Talents too, every level you gain over 10 you get a point to spend on them and they can make a difference. And make sure you go to other ports to buy some of the special abilities, they can be a game changer. When I beat the mission you are on, I had the following stuff - Level 9 Squid Sails, Level 8 Whale Quarterdeck, Level 12 Copper Cannons, Level 12 Reinforced Cobra Bullets, Level 11 Reinforced Whale Crew. The first couple minutes of my Part 5 video show me taking him out
I have much higher level stuff than that and he still took me out, I thought I was about to win and then...
The game definitely makes you pay for one wrong turn, if you slow down too much to take a shot and miss, you won't be moving fast enough to escape his next broadside. Try using some of the small rock outcroppings in the water, you should be faster than him so try turning tight around a few of those, line up your shot as he comes around the side and then take off again before he can line up his shot. It definitely can make you feel like you suck at combat for a while
its really tough in this game, especially when your crew gets killed and you're down to 2 cannons. The game is pretty particular too, realistic for sure but definitely makes for some near misses.
All this talk of pirate games has me wondering what the hell happened to that Ubisoft pirate game they were making. Seems like years ago they showed that thing.
I assumed it was dead. I didn't like the look of it anyway. People asked for Black Flag without the assassin stuff but they tried to do some shared world BS.
Actually delayed till fiscal year 2022. Was supposed to release this year after one development reboot but was pushed back again with an additional development reboot. I would not count on that game being worth a shit
Dark cloud 2 was one of my favorites. That and Suikoden (3?). I loved how you could recruit ~100 characters and use them in battle.
Suikoden 2 is an absolute all time JRPG. Fantastic fucking game and I’d suck every dick itt for a way to play it on console rn in it’s original form
Bought my son a PS5 for his 5th birthday back in May. He absolutely loved that robot game that came along with it. Got him SackBoy, SpiderMan. Any good recs on what I should be getting him next?
Also, here's my retrospective on the entire R&C franchise. Haven't been able to narrate it to YT yet, for Odin and the don't read crew. https://superjumpmagazine.com/throw...ends_link&sk=7305bf300f51cf45016dd91e112f1f8f Finishing one up now on the best weapons from the series. Mr. Zurkon for life.
My 5 year old loves Mortal Komback [sic] XL and laughs his ass off when I do a fatality because he's a sociopath and I'm a terrible parent.
I played the free Ratchet and Clank but didn't care too much for it. This one appears to be getting great reviews. I may break down and give it a try.
Still haven’t found a PS5. Admittedly I’m just casually looking, but shocked these aren’t more available by now
Car dealerships are basically begging people to trade in their vehicles due to this, as well. They're to the point of sending chipless vehicles just to take up space in the lot
Feel like I'm more likely to see a tiger in a Target or Walmart or Best Buy than a PS5. Especially in Texas
Finally scored a PS5 and sent the support team an email asking if they were able to update the shipping address. Order cancelled for fraud. Fucking A.
Played the PS4 one when it became free for a month and it was well worth it. Will definitely be playing once I finish the last of us 2
A lot of peoples’ first experience with the series is the 2016 movie tie-in so this bodes extremely well for us all. That game was legitimately great and this is supposedly better in every way. Plus Insomniac didn’t crunch its employees to make it happen. Elite game development.
You're missing out dude. Maybe not the super old ones, but any of the Future games, 2016 remake, and of course Rift Apart are worth your time. I'm about 5 hours into RA, its amazing
