Things are entirely back to normal in ATL, haven’t worn a mask in like a week. Still keep one in the car just in case a business requires it
Masks are definitely in the minority here since the if you’re vaccinated you don’t need a mask mandate came down
Its basically “over” in Alabama with the second worst vax rate in the country. That article that I sent you basically looks at cases assuming vaccinated people aren’t by and large presenting symptoms/testing positive and if you consider that while new Covid cases are lower, when adjusted to match unvaccinated population case rates would actually be just as bad as they were in January.
The idea that science is dynamic and that like half the human population can't grasp that idea has been a nightmare to deal with through this.
Young people haven't given a fuck for months, wayyyyy before the CDC changed their guidelines. My coworking space did finally change their guidelines and said no one who is vaccinated has to wear masks anymore, so that's nice.
Went shopping to a couple furniture stores this past weekend and each still had signs up recommending mask usage... and everyone was wearing one. But it appears to be more rare now. I’m not seeing restaurants requiring them and staff isn’t even wearing them, at least the couple I’ve seen recently.
iirc almost instantly they knew it wasn't man MADE because of the structure of the virus which they also identified extremely early
I know theres no love lost here, but turning down 10 million WHO certified vaccines is a bit unwise, i think. Japan just had 10k olympics workers quit because the social distancing measures hasnt been enough with the new variants and their gov vaccine rollout is shit https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/03/sport/tokyo-olympics-volunteers-covid-intl-hnk/index.html https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/02/how-the-covid-shock-has-radicalised-generation-z The kids clearly understand american government
back to normal as in people are acting like there is no covid but there actually is and people are still dying or ???
A lot of our businesses have signage up that warns people to be prepared to show proof of vaccination if they want to not be required to wear masks.
Is there any update on official FDA approval with Pfizer and Moderna ? think it was posted itt that it had a chance happening end of May. That could help Universities and others when considering mandates
I assumed Pfizer already had approval since they submitted for full authorization weeks ago, but I'm assuming that the FDA hasn't done anything based on your post.
From my understanding a big reason more haven't mandated yet is that they are leery of the legal ramifications of the emergency authorization instead of the permanent FDA authorization. Once it is officially (non-emergency) authorized more institutions will move toward mandating vaccination for on-campus learning, like they already do with measles, meningitis, etc.
We had to take a survey this week regarding coming back into the office or staying remote. My entire team voted to stay remote. There’s no reason at all for us to actually be in the office. I’ve never even been there. My manager is a big work from home supporter and hopefully our director lets us as the email said it will be up to the department to decide. They are requiring proof of vaccination to return to the office for any groups that have to go back in to not wear masks. They’ve had mobile vaccination sites at all the offices for the essential workers to be able get vaccinated and they give them 2 free sick days after they receive each dose so they can stay home if they have any side effects.
A member of Congress named Ted with a 4 letter last name is criticizing Biden for donating our excess Covid vaccines instead of prioritizing American interests and allies. Are you fucking kidding me? Spoiler
that dude SUCKS. what a clown tweet from him. total mask off insanity. and doubling down in the replies god the democrats suck
Oh yeah. Got laid off last year from the shitty job due to covid. So the job I had that didn’t take covid seriously had to have a massive company wide layoff because of covid.
I was reading the list of countries where our admin is sharing vaccine. They all made sense and would’ve been my first choices too, except for Canada. Does Canada really have a greater need for vaccine than LatAm, APAC and Africa? I thought Canada has more people vaccinated per capita than us? Always thought of EMEA, Canada, China, Russia having the best situation for vaccines but I could be wrong. https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/03/politics/biden-vaccine-sharing-plan/index.html
I mean, if we really want to do what's best for us as a country, we should probably vaccinate the hell out of Taiwan before anyone else due to the supply chain issues plaguing the planet, but spreading the wealth is clearly the least sociopathic strategy. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...another-covid-wave/ar-AAKDNNV?ocid=entnewsntp
Canada does need our help. That is why they had a big 2021 spike and can barely have anyone at their sporting events (Toronto Raptors played in Miami. Blue Jays are currently in Buffalo). Evidently Canada doesn't have biomedical manufacturing, so they have had to acquire all of their vaccines. B/c of hoarding, they haven't been able to get as many vaccines as they need until very recently. I would think USA would prioritize getting vaccines to Mexico and Canada so we can reopen the borders for business and tourism
They aren’t going to give China a propaganda win. The US really should have been giving them some but I guess Biden wants to be seen to distribute evenly.

Your fake friend is a piece of shit if he refers to pneumonia that way. I’d actually like to know where this place is so it can be reported for Medicare fraud. Why are you the way you are?
I’d expect most nursing homes are run by people familiar with this term and every single one of them should be having end of life care discussions with their residents.
