First time seeing this thread but wanted to add Tyler is awesome. His music is as real as it gets. Austin City Limits on YouTube sent my love into overdrive.
A few weeks later and it’s still the same with no dates announced. Childers is at the top of my priority list to go and see.
Currently out at the bar but I’m definitely throwing a Childers concert on Youtube when I get home. Appreciate the bump devine
Didn't know I was going to have to call my therapist this week, but here we are. I was trying to be good and save money. Because I had tickets both nights in Nashville, I skipped the tour opener in Birmingham and Knoxville the following week. I will never get over that. Spoiler Because I will never get to see Sturgill rock the fuck out of Sound & Fury front to back.
Since I'm calling my therapist, I may as well get my money's worth. I went to night 1 of Tyler's four night Ryman run. Night 4, this happened
Yeah, we are going to the Friday show. Hate not to see them when they are so close. Just hope they play the old stuff and bring the same energy they used to. You?
Matt Heckler is opening for Lost Dog Street Band right now and that’s like Tyler Childers opening for Sturgill (RIP to that tour).
This is cool. Sorry if old. https://www.whiskeyriff.com/2021/02...erforms-a-back-porch-duet-of-shake-the-frost/
Saw Robert Earl Keen tonight and he player 1 cover in his set. Whitehouse Road. Pretty damn solid tipping of the cap by a beast of a songwriter.
I’m saying this with absolutely no information, but it feels like Tyler’s camp has been super quiet since about the time he released the instrumental album. He has hardly any shows scheduled, too. Wonder if we’re going to get a surprise album announcement of new music or something, because it feels like it’s about that time for him to release another.
I almost didn’t post because I knew a thread notification would excite some folks. He hasn’t released new music since August 2, 2019, so…
I’m really interested to se where he goes. I liked Country Squire but I also don’t want him heading in that direction. A Long Violent History was an amazing song and I think that bluegrass route could really be a win for him
If Rick Ruben (or anyone else who tries to round off the rough edges) gets involved with Tyler I swear I’m taking a road trip.
I mean, Sturgill was one of the producers on that album, so I’d feel pretty confident in keeping with that direction.
Well, we know he has a handful (at least) songs that he plays live that have never been recorded properly, so I'm cautiously holding out for a proper "Take My Hounds to Heaven."
Country Squire? I thought he was involved in Purgatory and not CS? Regardless, I liked CS but it’s not the version of Tyler I prefer
His band members and tour manager are out with other bands right now. He's closer to retirement than releasing something
Got my notification that the Red Rocks shows will require proof of vaccination or negative test. Super pumped
