Girlfriend just got the CSP last week. Any chance she can call and get the 100k bonus now instead of the 80k?
The sign up bonus from a referral doesn’t always reflect that does it? Looks like it’s still 80k when I try to refer someone to it :(
lifemiles promo is giving me a small sweat. One of the blogs (omaat) has a link that allows you to get up to 175% bonus. I'm probably more interested in a level down at 170%. As an example I could spend 1k and end up with 83,700 miles and 5,000 MR points since it codes direct as airfare. Of course there's a non-zero chance that the airline (Avianca) itself "restructures" and loses star alliance affiliation in which case the miles are fairly useless...
For people getting the CSP 4 years after CSR. Do I need to downgrade my CSR before I apply for the CSP? I got my account/Bonus in early 2017 so should be good. I need to exhaust my points at 1.5x before I do this tho
Anybody have a good 0% APR card recommendation? I needed about $15K for a project last year, and got the Chase Unlimited Freedom, 0% APR for 15 months, and because I have a long relationship with Chase, they gave me a $20K limit. Paid everything off before the APR period finished, so it essentially functioned as an interest free loan for 15-months. Looking to do something similar, but Chase told me I can't do it again with the Unlimited Freedom (although may try and get a different rep that's more malleable). Citi and some other cards with long 0% APR periods look like they only provide $5-10K in credit limits, and I would need more than that. Any thoughts on this incredibly risky and irresponsible credit practice?
Amex Blue Cash Everyday/Preferred, Amex Cash Magnet, Discover IT, Cap One Quicksilver, just off the top of my head. You'll probably have better luck with a higher credit limit with Amex, I would think.
I have a Discover It and Amex BCE. Amex definitely seems to give you a higher credit limit. I’d be surprised if discover gave you $15k off the bat.
Am I your girlfriend!? I applied last week before the new promotion started, but didn’t receive/activate my card until yesterday. I called and they said the promotion is based on the application date and they couldn’t retroactively apply the promotion, even though I hadn’t received the card until after the new promotion started. I hate giving the call center staff a hard time, and didn’t have any good leverage, but you might have better luck than me.
As someone who also partakes in incredibly risky and irresponsible credit practices, why not go with the Chase Freedom flex? Should be 15 months of 0% as well. I got the Citi Diamond Preferred last year for some house things. 18 months at 0% and my credit limit is $15k.
I spoke with two different Chase reps today and neither of them mentioned the Flex card. Will definitely look into that. I did some research on the Citi Diamond Preferred, and saw that the general credit limit was "$3K - $9K." I could work with a $15K limit.
Just as an FYI - Citi initially gave me $10.4k, they upped it sometime within the last few months, so they may be willing to work with you.
It looks like the referral won’t get you the 100k bonus yet. Earn 80,000 bonus points with Chase Sapphire Preferred. Plus, earn $50 statement credit towards grocery purchases. I can be rewarded, learn more. https://www.referyourchasecard.com/m/6a/6L5/GF5V/1575919731
Earn up to 60,000 Bonus Points with the World of Hyatt Credit Card. I can be rewarded too, learn more. https://www.referyourchasecard.com/205a/VLES8X4ZIQ thx bb
You can only have one personal Sapphire product at the same time. Here's the eligibility rules language: The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change. You will not receive the new cardmember bonus if you change products. https://www.cnbc.com/select/having-...Chase doesn't allow you,t apply for the other.
The preferred bonus now requires $15k spending in the first three months. I just hit under 5/24 but that's a lot even with MS to hit.
Buy $15,000 worth of toilet paper at Walmart then go to another store and return it without the receipt. They give you store credit you can use later. #lifehack
or just by $7,500 worth of toilet paper and $7,500 worth of taco bell and all your problems will be solved.
I currently have the citi AAdvantage platinum select card. Is there a way to upgrade to the executive card without another hard credit inquiry?
Not a direct answer, but I believe product changes do not qualify for the welcome offer/sign up bonus.
flipped my (eventually 1.5k) lifemiles gamble into polaris between ORD and LHR, and swiss biz ZRH to EWR with change to spare. good times.
Amex platinum TMBers: If I will have myself, wife, 3 yr old and baby (7 months), can we all get into Delta or Centurion lounge with my Amex platinum? The way I read the rules I get 2 guests and kids under 2 don't count, but hoping to confirm before I plan around that
Never been in this situation, but it sounds like you’re correct. I checked the Amex website and found the wording below. Fucking hell…”acceptable proof of age” for an infant. GMAFB. “We will admit children under 2 years of age free of charge, provided the Card Member traveling with those children is able to produce a “lap infant” boarding pass or proof of age. Acceptable proof of age will be a passport, birth certificate, infant boarding pass (available from certain airlines) or an immunization record.”
IMO Centurion is fine. Delta it depends on whether you have skymiles status or not because if you're merely an Amex platinum card holder you have to pay for a guest. (And I'm assuming you are flying Delta at the time?)
Amex platinum only gets one guest unless you’re Delta 360 (I’m platinum). I have to pay for my wife every time but of course you can offset using the $200 travel credit. I’ve been into lounges several times with my kid (she’s almost 3) and they’ve never asked me for her age or charged us.
Thoughts/comments on my situation: My second Amex Plat anniversary is in September. I'm considering canceling that and opening a Schwab Platinum. The CSP 100K bonus seems too good to pass up and I received the CSR bonus over 4 years ago. However, what if Chase offers a good sign up bonus on the CSR next year? I would be SOL. I always want a card on hand with some sort of lounge access.
Just have a Southwest card from Chase currently. Need to get a new card, is the CSP the way to go right now with the 100k bonus?
I have a Schwab platinum. Easily the most valuable card I have. Effectively 5% back at grocery stores and restaurants when paired with the gold. Rumor has they’ll be refreshing the card soon, so careful signing up with the intent to cash out.
Yeah there's been a ton of talk with regular and Schwab Plat. Possible AF increase with the regular Plat. Perhaps removal of the Schwab cashback too.
