Did Jess King’s most recent sweat steady today. She talked about needing to go to bed earlier and hydrating more. She was lower energy. She said she wasn’t putting on a show today. Instead she was in the trenches with us. she was clearly hungover
Might have taken my favorite ride ever. 30 minute Mood ride with Emma. Really had me in all my feels and remembering some dark times I went through.
not to get into it to much but I suffer from major depressive disorder with psychotic features. My regular mood is what most would call depressed. Having the ability to just feel that without being judged was great. It’s why I’ve taken so many other similar rides. Working out is one of my most important coping mechanisms.
Daniel Ocean is this the Theragun knock off you said you have? I got this today and the reviews were good and price was great. Deep Tissue Massage Gun - Flyby F1Pro - Quiet Handheld Percussion Massager - Back Muscle Soreness & Recovery for Athletes - Men & Women - Lightweight, Portable, Long Battery Life, 3 Speeds & 6 Heads
this is the first one I bought. worked great but gave it to my son This is the one I currently have. I like it because of the case it comes with. It also works great. I like it a little more than the first one.
Gotcha. The one I got today is normally $159 but was on sale for $59 and had time of great reviews. Not expecting much but hope to be pleasantly surprised.
Guess I missed this, but the new guided scenic rides speed up and slow down as your intensity does. Neato
Fucking headphones kept cutting off today and then only one would play. Not sure if it was a peloton or headphones thing.
Both my wife's and my headphones/ear buds (diff make/models) have been cutting out on our last rides. Audio is fine with Bluetooth off. One of their updates fuck things up? I'm riding my MTB almost exclusively now, so waiting for the Peloton fix is no biggie for me, but it was semi-annoying.
In a 45 minute ride I had to take them off out them in the case take them put to reconnect at least 7 times. Would fuck up the flow.
I’m having to go back into work 2-3 times a week and on top of that my office moved downtown so my commute moved from like 10-15 minutes to 30-45. It’s really thrown me off in terms of riding the bike because it was so easy to get off work, ride, and be done with it all well before 5:30. Now I barely get home by then. Might have to start riding in the morning, but for whatever reason even though I can wake up early it’s like my body can’t perform as well without time to loosen up. Anyone had success moving to morning workouts?
Saturday is my long ride/run day so I workout as soon as I wake up on Saturday. One thing that helps is having a banana as soon as I wake up. Doing a warm up will help too. Either do a pre-run stretch or warmup ride.
That’s a good call on the warmup ride. I think it’s kind of mental but it feels like my body just doesn’t react as well to the rides if I haven’t had all day to loosen up.
the mental aspect is important as fuck too. I generally have to tell myself the night before what I’m going to do in the morning. I sometimes set up my stack the night before that way there is no just sitting in saddle looking for something to do. It’s hop on the bike and go.
I’ll die on this hill. Old Coldplay is pretty damn good, but most everything after the X&Y album is crap.
I have been getting up for Wilpers live Sat am at 7:30 the past 2 months. If it wasn’t live there is no way I get up and ride like that.
I took his either 30 or 45 min endurance ride that was entirely zone 2, then saw he was doing a 60 minute all zone 2 in that 730 am slot last weekend. It’s so awful.
Hungover Sunday rides to recover are becoming a favorite of mine. Nothing too intense just low impact or recovery rides to get in a good sweat. Feel so much better afterwards.
Last Saturday was a 90min zone 2 and 3. I didn’t ride again till this evening. His IG said 90 again this coming weekend but the peloton app says 45z
One of the days recently he mentioned on IG the ride was a long one only in zone 2. If I want to put myself through the hell of a single zone for so long, I’ll do it in a scenic ride with my own music.
yeah I did the whole zone 2 one and that was wack. Funny though was I had said the day before I was hoping for longer efforts as the last couple were like 2 or 3 min intervals. Then we get a whole zone 2 day. Yuck. I did this past Wednesday PZE today and it was perfect. 5/5/5/4/3/5 zone 3/2 split.
I’m going through this pain as well, was back to the office for the first time (full-time) the last couple weeks. I get home too late to ride in the evenings most nights, so started morning rides later in the week last week. I was a solid 10% below my average in output. I tried waking up early, hitting an espresso and going on last Friday and still hit a wall my last 5-7 mins. Hoping my body adjusts to it, but trying not to beat myself up too much
I made no comment on the quality of the music, just an observation on how much Coldplay is used in the playlists.
Yep that’s how it is for me but it’s more the first chunk of the ride I feel like my body and brain aren’t in sync or something. It’s like after riding consistent I know what my “best” feels like, so when I don’t feel that way it’s disappointing. Worst part is, it’s not that I have an issue waking up (it’s 530am right now) it is more so the fact sometimes I go to sleep later to “feel” like I had some time to relax after work, or my dog wakes me up randomly in the middle of the night so my sleep quality is terrible.
Apparently Peloton is sending out surveys about Boxing classes. Quite a few of their instructors have taught those previously.
Pretty sure my wife and I are about to order a Plus. We've gone back and forth on if we should get a cheap ProForm one to see if we like it, get a regular Peloton, get the Plus, or get a Tonal. She likes to do home workouts and is good about running. I hate running, and go through spells on using the treadmill. I've always wanted to bike instead of run. I think having a bigger screen and swivel would be great, so she could take more advantage of the off bike exercises. They have programs for that, right? Also, shoes are required, right? Can get cheap ones on amazon that'll get the job done?
Yea, tons of other types of classes. Strength, Yoga, Pilates, boot camp, stretching. Yes you need shoes that have the compatible clip.
We were in the same boat. Got it this weekend delivered and it’s pretty slick. Wife and I both just got 70 dollar shoes on Amazon. As long as it has the 3 part cleat, it will fit the pedal. I’m sure the peloton ones are much nicer but early returns are ours do just fine in the few times we’ve used them. The ordering and delivery process went extremely smooth.
get the peloton app from the App Store. They still might have a free month or two. You can see what they offer. It’s a lot more than just the bike.
Has anybody financed theirs directly through Peloton? Just wondering if there's a penalty for paying off early, even though it says you can get 0% for up to 39 months. I'd rather just do like 3 $1000 payments, lol.
Why would you make three big $1,000 payments when you can just pay $60 a month at 0% APR on autopay through Affirm? I'm sure you could prepay if you wanted given its zero % interest.
I wouldn't actually do $1000 payments, but $60 for 3 years seems a bit too long. I saw they had 12/24/39 month options. Just didn't know if there was a penalty for paying off a little early.
No penalty. I’ve had mine for over 3 years and use it almost daily. As long as you use it the time will fly. I’d do the sixty a month.
