Montreal getting the sweep and ending up as the most rested team of the final four will be quite a turnaround.
Trotz’s “bend don’t break” defense in the third period basically gave me a heart attack. It’s almost criminal to not try and get shots on the backup rookie goalie coming in cold for the Bruins. And I dread seeing that Bergeron line come on the ice seemingly every other shift. Glad the Islanders didn’t waste a game where they got three power play goals b/c that probably won’t happen again.
To be very clear - I trust Trotz immensely after enduring Isles teams coached by Jack Capuano and Doug Weight from 2010-2018. And I’m sure Swayman is good but would prefer him to see more than 3 shots in a period.
Canadiens are an incredible story. I still think they get steamrolled by Colorado or Vegas but they have so much confidence right now
I could see the Danault line shutting down Mackinnon and Montreal having the upper edge with the bottom 9 and Price playing lights out. There are no easy matchups at this point in the playoffs.
shit human being, shit coach, shit team. Winnipeg also didn't sing the national anthem in french, something I don't remember seeing from a canadian team,
Winnipeg were a salty bunch all series long, mtl is a frustrating team to play. they completely lost their composure very early on and it was not just scheifle. Not sure what they expected.
I hate the fact that I’m supposed to hate the Islanders as a Rangers fan, because in terms of team make-up they’re so likable in the playoffs. - Extremely well coached - No big egos - A ton of high end role players who just night in and night out do their jobs extremely well They’re the ultimate playoff Cinderella story, though at this point nobody should be surprised by the results.
