Yeah, I did it in about 2 hours. I did all of the moments, then did the missions that I could (Topps Now ones first) and once I unlocked the rest of the monthly cards, added them into the lineup and used them against cpu.
nah you can swap out players as much as you want as long as the OVR is 90 or less. Which is why we’d have to make a rule about pitching staffs. Probably a limit on how many silvers/golds you can put on your pitching staff for a game.
Still think 90 is too low. The May monthly program has 7 players at 91+ and rv12 did it in 2 hours. TA2 has 30 cards at 93+. And yea, if we can move people on and off, it's kinda pointless bc I'll have 1 95+ SP and the rest will be 65s. Bullpen will have 3 95+ guys and the rest will be 65s. I get what you're trying to do but we need to figure out something that works so everyone isn't trying to skirt the rules.
Unfortunately, the settings only allow for 5 point increment changes on max overall so the next level up would be 95. I think 90 is better than 95 for sure.
I get not having a 99 overall team but nuking it to 90 kinda defeats the purpose of everyone having worked to unlock all of these cards. I'd love to have a league with guys here but I'd rather just play ranked if I can't bring hardly any my regular players. I feel like the guys here all play a lot and most can field a 94-95 overall team just from TA and monthly cards.
See what you can come up with for a 90OVR team and the you can only use 3 silvers and 3 golds on your team. NO Bronze or Black players whatsoever. That's probably the general rule we're looking at. And there's no way to skirt it you can check your opponents bullpen and if you get caught trying to break "the only rule" in a for-fun league like this then honestly I don't have a problem kicking that person out bc that's just douchey
I hear what you're saying and agree that you can make a very nice team with just TA and monthly. I'm at a 92 overall from doing that and not spending money. I think what people don't want is to go up against a team with Chipper, Ortiz, Soriano, Jackie, etc. every game. I like the idea that Lank said about 3 golds and silvers though I'd say knock out silvers too because those can bring down overalls quite a bit and none of us are going to ever use a silver card.
Silver Chapman, Silver Pedro reliever, Silver Croshek or however you spell his name. I also was thinking a silver 99spd pinch runner on the bench in lieu of a 5th pinch hitter. But yea I could do without Silvers too honestly. However many bullpen spots there are that are relievers and not SU/CP = how many golds you can have. So what's that 5? 5 golds max would keep people that have 99s from being able to put all of them in the lineup. Most people that are gonna be in this league have maybe 1 or no 99ovrs. Dbl, Trofie, Victorjg and me are most likely the only ones with multiple 99s
I think those people would want to use them if they'd unlocked tjem though. Like this team isn't wild at all and it's still a 91.
Don't put a limit on ovr. Just have it so that every player you have 95 or over you must have a silver player. Have 7 guys 95 or higher? You must have 7 silvers as well
I understand this thinking and know that I'm coming across that way. But I will say that's not what I'm meaning, I am saying that it's more fun to play games against similarly matched teams and not all OP players. At the end of the day though, I'll play against any of the teams and know that I'm going to lose 90% of the games. It's just for some fun banter.
it probably should be on HOF but that'd probably keep half the league from enjoying it. 10-9 game is more fun than a 2-1
Right, and what I'm saying is pretty much everyone here can make a 92-93 overall team. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a limit but 90 is really low. Setting it so low that all 99s are basically unusable it just lame.
in my lineup I posted above I could switch out Degrom for Glavine and a slightly lower Closer for Dibble and have 2 99ovr batters on my team. I don't think asking people to pick 1-2 99ovrs instead of using 5-6 is really asking a lot.
Just a starting point for a discussion I'm very open to whatever most people can agree on. Not trying to run a dictatorship just would like to get the ball rolling
95 is probably too high honestly. I'm playing with it now and I only had to make 1-2 moves to get to 95.
For reference, this team is a 95. Goes to 96 if I put Bank at SS. I really think 92-93 with a limit on silver/bronze players is the sweet spot. I think everyone here can field a 93 overall team and a limit on silvers will make it to where guys with a 96 overall can't cheese it up to get to 93.
I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m down for whatever. I’m used to watching poor talent on the field so ratings don’t even matter to me
I probably own more cards than anyone ITT, but that doesn’t mean I’m good. I’m just a loser who collects baseball cards on a video game.
Why not just start a TMB HR derby? Isn't that basically what ranked seasons is? A long, drawn out HR/K derby?
I looked into it and didn't see any. That's the issue with the rating cap on the game. You can only set it at 90 or 95 (or any lower increments of 5). We could set it at 95 and ask people not to go above 91-94 but someone will always say they forgot.
