Isn't there a bunch of copypasta of ETH or BTC, too? Alts, shitcoins, etc, What's the difference? There's obviously a market for it on both sides, just as there are a ton of risks.

I honestly don't really mind the bitlicense as much, although its a bit wide sweeping. It's nice to have regulated exchanges. I really don't know why they did the power thing though. At $0.02 kWh upstate, it was one of the only places that could compete with the big ops in China.
While I think the claims that Bitcoin uses all or mostly uses wasted power are laughable. Lets be real, the PoW problem is not exclusively a Crypto problem. Anyone who knows how computer and technology works knew that power demands would increase over time. Do people think data centers aren't consuming massive amounts of power too? Netflix streaming uses a ton of power to deliver to your TV screen. Thats why things like sci-fi have concepts like Dyson Spheres. The root of the problem is the entire world ignoring climate change and the transition to renewable energy, and the PoW problem is that tech debt coming to a head.
Which is why I made the example of dbl slurping his shoes. It's simply all the same. If it requires energy it's coming from somewhere.
Once again, to be on the other side of Lyrtch + dblplay1212 is not a bad thing. NGMI, and really and truly, HFSP.
The outgroup fascination of the boomers surrounding themselves with NYT articles is so quant, precious, and cute
You’d like to think this spurs the US to get a little more serious about some meaningful regulation around crypto. It’s 1000% necessary. That said I’m not holding my breath. Love to hear Oranjello thoughts
This seems like it's in reference to the El Salvador stuff, but the USD is still the official currency there. I think this dude has no clue what he's talking about
IRS/Treasury has not changed its position, so virtual currencies are still "property" for U.S. tax purposes. Regardless of the tax treatment, I think increased information reporting is almost certainly going to happen. Biden called for in his announcement a few weeks ago. I can't find it online, but this document was recently released by Treasury and provides an idea of what they are currently thinking about Spoiler
I've been off Twitter for a bit, what's going on with the blue laser eyes? Is this like an ice dragon thing calling for crypto winter or something else? TIA
These assholes do the same thing about encryption. They don't understand it and bad people use it sometimes so it should be banned.
