I thought I might catch some sort of comment from someone but nobody said anything to me which I took as a good sign that even though everyone wasn’t wearing a mask they weren’t being dicks about it if you were wearing one
We're averaging two confirmed cases per day in the whole county and everybody at my gym is still wearing masks
I still do. It doesn’t affect my workout at all and my 1 year old isn’t vaccinated so I see it as if I’m going to do it I’d rather have 2 types of armor on than just 1.
Good call. Our gym will go to the "you can take off your mask if you've been vaccinated" honor system June 15, since that's the day that CA is moving to reopen just about everything. Gym owner confessed some concern about liability going forward, figures that there will need to be further clarification from the state and county.
JFC, no joke I'm having to explain to my legal assistant that no, the vaccine does not make magnets stick to you. Her: "But I saw videos of it!" Me: "Do you know how many of our clients have gotten MRIs in the past few months? If a magnet would stick to their arm, an MRI would have fucking torn them apart." Her: "...."
are people unaware that small objects like keys will temporarily stick to their bodies if you press hard enough? I feel like you learn this at 4 years old. Also, old people are so fucking easily deceived by "things I saw videos of." Breaking news lady, people are really good at faking videos. Editing, doing stuff off camera, glue, lighting, etc. Fuck's sake
Ask people to put a piece of paper between their skin and the magnet and then see if it still sticks... good luck...
Paper is famously magnet-neutralizing, hence why they made Magneto’s helmet out of construction paper. Science.
I like to pretend they go home and open studies and really pore over the studies late in to the night, getting deep in the statistics and interpretations of each paper
God fucking dammit Find where every cent of funding this garbage came from and beat the shit out of them for yeard
"The T-cell responses actually are not reduced — at all — to the variants," Barouch says. It's not just the Beta variant, but also the Alpha and Gamma variants. Although it will take studies in people to be certain the vaccines will work against variants, "Anything that generates a T-cell immune response to the SARS-CoV-2, I would say has promise as being potentially protective," Maus says. https://www.npr.org/sections/health...19-vaccines-remain-effective-against-variants
I was watching Sports Center yesterday and they had a jags player, I think, saying he wanted more info before getting the vax but also didn't think the org should be bringing in someone to talk to the team to give them more info.
These people need to be publicly shamed. Break down the data by vaxxed vs unvaxxed. Sorry, but I just am finding it ahrder and harder to give a flying fuck about people not getting a shot and getting sick
Kid's sports is removing covid-related restrictions this week. They weren't much, just that kids had to wear a mask entering the practice area (but then take it off), parent's can't be in the practice area have to stay outside, etc.
Pretty sure it was Michelle Steele that did the report and she made sure to point out the contradiction in his statement which was nice.
Some really good data and graphs https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/06/10/us/covid-death-patterns.html
NFL players willing to inject so much garbage into their bodies but a vaccine to end a pandemic they go into ‘just asking questions’ mode
Referring to the Cleveland Clinic stuff? I thought I saw someone I know post something similar so I assume it's a new anti-vax talking point
yes, referring to the Cleveland Clinic stuff. IMO, there isn't data that supports it definitively one way or the other, BUT most of the data I've seen shows that infection produces fewer neutralizing antibodies against variants than vaccination
I oddly find the anti vaxxers talking points hilarious. Like thinking it's a "personal decision" and that "there are things you have weigh" makes them feel so smart
Found out my sister in laws parents are anti covid vaccine. She’s due next month but they’re not allowed to come and see them after the baby is born or see there other son. She’s pregnant and fully vaccinated now and said it’s fine because they’re choosing ignorance over their grandkids.
