Would I rather watch sports all day and fish 2-3 times a week? Sure. That’s not reality. If I want to take care of my family, my sick wife and take them on vacations I have to work hard. I like my job and I understand I have to work to provide and do things so when I have shit days I’m thankful for what it provides. I don’t get the mindset of not having to work a lot of your life yet still be expected to have nice things and tons of retirement. I knew when I graduated I was going to have work 40 years but I enjoy my life and family along the way. Dont understand why that is a hot take.

No, a majority of my mom’s side is lower class including my brother. I am with them frequently. I’m simply saying liking your job and working hard and expecting you have to work into your 60’s is something I was brought up knowing you likely had to do.

I’ve been the only 6th grade teacher in our entire district since December. I have 59 students with 2 different groups of 29 and 30 that come in alternating days. An underfunded elementary school gets a playground, some employees gain satisfaction participating in a worthy cause, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, the company writes off the expense as a charitable contribution while increasing the brand’s value. Yay capitalism.
