I think you are probably wrong though. All jobs aren't completely horrible if you are willing to sacrifice some income. No one is making you grind at an awful company to make a bunch of money.

But were they all with the goal of making a lot of money/financially driven? Everyone is different and I don't know your situation and how much money you have to have. But I think there's something out there you'd at the very least hate less.

Being on time for work with enough time to hit up the coffee joint on the way UNTIL you remember they closed a road on your normal route to work and now you can make it to work on time but the coffee is a no go.

Work inherently has some suck aspect to it, that's why they have to pay you to do it.

That said, some jobs are much better than others.

And a final thought, if your mindset is "all jobs suck" then they absolutely will. Sometimes you have to change your internal reality

This is a good post to me. What some people have been calling being oblivious I would call perspective.

I'd rather not have to work and parts of my job are bad, but I also realize I am pretty fortunate to like big parts of it. There are way worse ways to make a living.

    Understatement of the century.

They're starting a full re-eval of every aspect of the company and want to insert as much of their team as they can.

    Obviously it's sector-determinant.

I know, and I hate to bring it up because it's such a slippery slope. "Get a better attitude and pull yourself up by your bootstraps!"

Not trying to say that. Just the "when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail" thing. We see what we're expecting to see. Maybe you can find a job that isn't as soul sucking as the one you currently have <3

FIFY. A lot of jobs would be sweet if we were skilled laborers producing something. We're just watching everything get consolidated into conglomerates and eventually robots. Human factors aren't being considered.

From my experience, the biggest difference between a good (or even tolerable) job and a bad one is your fungibility. If you're made to feel like you're valued, you'll enjoy it more. If you're treated like you're replaceable, it's going to suck.

You likely won't agree but you're fair enough to at least try to see my point of view, and have a meaningful conversation. Unlike others who simply tried to have a gotcha question. So sure I'll continue.

First we need to define Christian. Is that the world definition of people who simply say they believe in Christ? Or is that more of people who actually try to follow the bible? This is an entire conversation on its own. But you'll understand if I don't see everyone who simply calls themselves a Christian, but actually follows little to none of the bible as meeting that definition. So take that into consideration when I say most "Christians".

Same concept applies to all the different denominations and whether those are "Christian" or not. But again, that's its own different conversation. Some denominations on that list are way low in acceptance percentage.

Then also what does "accept" mean? Not to persecute people because of how they are? Not to shun them as second class citizens? To love them as Jesus would have? Ok sure that gets no argument from me. Or is it people are saying accept in the sense of they think it's something God is now somehow ok with, morally, and therefore the world should be too? I don't subscribe to that interpretation.

That's the "no true Scotsman" logical fallacy, isn't it?

True, and I think a strong argument can be made that the denominations on that list that are "way low in acceptance percentage" also tend to be further removed from the Biblical Christ. If nothing else, they tend to be much younger denominations, no?

I think that there are a large number of Christians, under whatever definition you choose, who have concluded that there is no scriptural basis for anti-homosexuality. I understand that you're not going to agree with this, but there are translational/interpretational disagreements on the handful of verses used as a basis for the homosexuality = sin position. The only unequivocal condemnation of homosexuality in the Bible is Leviticus's recitation of pre-Christ Jewish laws, and what others of those are followed by modern Christians? Do you know anyone who abstains from shellfish?

I’ve been hot on cold on my job for awhile. Just recently I made a rather big mistake but I got it resolved just before there were any major consequences for the company. Easily the biggest mistake I’ve made but it was directed by my manager, no negative consequences from it, totally owned up to it. My boss said had there been any negative consequences I would have been shit canned. 8 years and I was a hair away from getting canned on the spot for one mistake.
