Derek Goold had Luke Epplin on his podcast.to discuss his book on the 1948 Indians. I found the convo really interesting. Learned a lot of baseball history I was unaware of. Lots of stories about Bob Feller, Satchel Paige, Larry Doby, Bill Veeck. It's a good listen for #Cleveland Indians fans or anyone who likes Baseball history https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podca...rdinals-fans-epic/id855518046?i=1000524834384
Thank u for the tag, but I'm on Cleveland I-Words strike until they quit paying their players like it is still 1948.
at comparing this, something the large majority of pitchers do, to something one team was doing. It's hilarious how years later you're still trying to play the victim.
Not sarcasm - I can’t wait to read the amount of cognitive dissonance in the forthcoming conversation between Astros fans and Yankees fans about cheating.
I just find it funny that an Astros fan is throwing shade when his spin rate jumped when he went to *checks note* the Astros.
I'm fine with it if they want to crack down on it, but pitchers have used grip substances since the 1800s. I know some of the newer stuff is probably better (spider tack or whatever) but I wouldn't call something cheating if everyone has been doing it more or less openly for a century.
My stance has been pretty steadfast there, electro. The Astros cheated and got caught. Everyone else is cheating too. The Red Sox did the same thing and no one cared because they’re the Red Sox. Now foreign substances that are actually impacting the game (every real analysis of the 2017 Astros showed their video/banging actually had zero positive impact on their success) are being put out in the open and all you want to do is look back at the Astros bullshit scandal because everyone needs a villain.
- Voit was for Giovani Gallegos. - Mercado was for Jhon Torres - Carson Kelly was part of the Goldschmidt deal - Arozarena was part of a deal for Matthew Libertore - Garcia, Wisdom, Ravelo were both for cash/ future considerations, mostly just to make room on the 40 man. Cards fans like to complain about these trades or moves but theyre not bad, - Gallegos has been an awesome reliever - Torres is a fringe top 100 prospect - Kelly is a good player but acceptable loss to get Goldy - People really freak out about Arozarena, but Libertore is a top 30ish prospect. Too early to judge that move - Garcia and Wisdom have been DFA'd multiple times since leaving the cardinals. Every team has passed on them so while it's good luck that the Rangers and Cubs brought them back, and they are having good years, it's not some huge whiff by the cards imo. - And just for good measure Ravelo is mashing for the Dodgers AAA team. Has an insane slash line. Batting over .400 with an enormous OPS
Nobody cared about the Sox? Didn't they lose their manager too? The difference is everyone in the league has been doing it and been pretty open about it. It's not some huge secret. The league knew and let it go. That's a far cry from one team coming up with a scheme to steal signs. Who brought up the Astros today? Oh the person that wants to be the victim did.
this is a very old man yells at internet cloud comment, but I really don’t understand the teams’ need to post final scores. What is the universe of fans who 1) don’t know the score of a game; 2) follow the team on Twitter; and 3) would turn to Twitter for the final score? Is it just a mechanism to consolidate shitposting comments about how much the team sucks?
super glad they pulled him at 105 pitches no one on the planet can convince me Hector Neris has never not blown a save against an NL East opponent
