Yeah I think they had to do a lot of "Hey Thor can be funny" prep work to let audiences expect the 180-degree tonal shift. Which doesn't really address giving Hulk away.
The whole advertising campaign was a Thor-Hulk space buddy cop comedy. Thor was a disappointing franchise. It was being made by the guy some people knew as the little ‘What We do in the Shadows’ vampire. They needed all the bullets in the chamber to get the off the rails buzz they ended up getting. I mean these trailers were insanely perfect:
WandaVision episode 4 - Holy shit that was incredible. Through ep6…amazing concept. What a show, acting by Olson and Bettany is top notch.
I understand why some people may have liked the return to the Civil War/Winter Soldier-feel of Falcon and WS series but the creativity for WV was just off the charts.
They’re two very different shows, and I think that’s the point. Both fun and exciting in their own ways.
The great thing about the MCU is there's room for a variety of styles in the same universe. There's no need to choose between the cosmic crazy or the gritty spy stuff. You get one over here and another over there.
I swear friends. I’m only 20 mins into Loki and you CANNOT convince me Fiege isn’t sitting there saying to himself “what one off line can I make one of these characters say nonchalantly that will send Diet into and absolute tizzy.”
Is it weird that I am excited for Shang Chi because I feel Feige does his best work with lesser known characters and stories and I am excited to see where Shang Chi takes us in this phase
Kid is watching Ragnarok for about the millionth time this morning. I really can't overstate how good it is. It's easily my favorite non-Avengers MCU movie.
I wonder how they differentiate the Necrosword from Hela’s powers? I guess portray it more as a symbiote without making it look like Venom.
