Bubble seems to have popped on a lot of high end singles. Zion/Trae/Luka RC's are all down big. Wonder if it's because everyone and their mother that wants one, probably has one
Yeah I think you're right, just didn't expect it so soon. That was going to happen eventually because like the one product that has Zion RC one of one's with some sort of metal bar in the card had three different one of one's. So yeah they were very highly produced. That and maybe the guys who were buying cards to flip and crap have taken their money out to go back to their true love: scalping concert tickets.
Oh dang, my vouchers have hit the assembly stage on PSA. Was not expecting those for a while. Submitted same time as my express, and my express was completed 2 weeks ago
It’s really the base cards that have taken the biggest hit, base and even silver zion and Luka have dropped substantially. When it come to the low numbered stuff while it’s dropped some it hasn’t been nearly as significant.
Agreed. Because the market is down I bought a Luka spectra rpa /25 I plan on grading and trading/ selling. Think I got a good deal on it. Got it for 60% of the low comp from April but only two available.
The Base PSA 10 market never made sense to me and nobody should be shocked that it has corrected itself. Nobody should be paying thousands for POP 18,000 cards with a 65% Gem Rate. Just another reminder that if you're going to pay for a 9.5 or 10, make sure that it makes sense on the POP reports.
I got a base chrome psa 10 Acuna bowman last year, as of today it still sells triple of what i paid for it last year.... Ungraded base seems to be what is taking a hit lately
Man the card world is full of a bunch of buttholes. I've been buying and selling bourbon in secondary groups, which is not even technically legal, for like 5 years. Not a single issue. In just the last month on eBay with cards I've had like 5 buyers not pay, one claim of damage that was ridiculous, probably a dozen bid retractions and now a guy who won a bid for $10 got the item cancelled claiming ebays Counterfeit policy. That's not to mention the guys in the Facebook groups who have been scammed with 4-figure value cards due to the PayPal G&S loopholes, How in the hell do y'all ever confidently sell or trade anything expensive? Any tips?
6k 10s of 7.5k graded. Bought it for $120. One sold yesterday for $370 something Here is one at $352 with 4 hours left still https://www.ebay.com/itm/274824350173 Peaked during the craziness close to $475 so it's down a little bit
I usually just chalk it up to doing business on eBay and it doesn't bother me anymore. I've actually had a lot of success on Instagram. Due to how easy it is for word to spread through stories, anybody that scams or is shady is usually outed pretty quickly. You can also reach out to mutual followers to vouch for their legitimacy. The card community on Instagram is actually pretty strong.
Honestly, I've only had 1 issue with a dude on eBay. He didn't pay and didn't respond to messages so I cancelled the order and then immediately threatened to leave me negative feedback claiming I didn't take PayPal credit and he was trying to find the money to pay for the card. It was like $2 card.
Yeah, this doesn't exactly provide a very good example seeing how his hobby exploded. If you look at any basketball Prizm Base PSA 10 you'll see how much they've fallen since they peaked (for players whose hobby remained relatively stable). Giannis - 4k to 1.5k Zion - 800 to 400 Luka - 2k to 1k Market saturation is very real and the whole supply/demand thing applies too as everyone and their mother figured out that it is easy to grade ultra-modern.
Yea the cheap eBay stuff is more of just a minor annoyance, but the scams of the higher priced stuff has me nervous. A guy in groups yesterday for instance said he sold an Anthony Davis PSA10 a month-ish back. Immediately following Lakers playoff loss, prices tanked a bit, the buyer then filed claim with PP, said it arrived in cracked, open case, and PP refunded. So now theoretically that dude could be sending back a completely separate card and seller is just screwed.
If it’s through eBay I won’t sell high dollar cards to someone unless they have a couple hundred feedback minimum. Normally if I make a big transaction it’s through Facebook with partial trade with a lot of guys I’m familiar with or I know people that are.
How much less is Bowman's Best stuff compared to regular Bowman? Just bought two Jordan Walker auto Bowman's Best for what I thought was a good deal
Hello I have this card. Is it really worth $480? https://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Bowma...-/253499287690?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
Friend was asking if I had any cool Braves autograph cards he could buy from me for his 5 year old’s bday. Think I might opt to give him the Brian McCann autograph card instead lol (for free) Edit: thinking more about it I think I’m gonna let him gift the Freeman card to his kid at no cost. If it sets his kid up for a fun future of collecting cards it’s worth it
It's a hard task with cards and kids. Better bet is to give him a stack of commons. Of your plan is to give the nicer cards, wait and see if the hobby sticks
