Yard Milkshake Bar has opened (not sure when) in Atlanta. Need to take my nephews there next time they are in town. A friend posted this pic of their kid getting this for their birthday: Spoiler: For size
This place is nuts. I have been to the ones in Panama City and Orange beach. They are as good/over the top as they look, but be prepared to spend 20 bucks on a milkshake. Looks like the one here is in centennial park. May take my daughter to the aquarium Friday and get her one.
Do they have a lot of indoor space? I was hoping to go there tomorrow for Father's Day beers but this rain looks awful
Not sure if there is anything upstairs by the patio, but the lower level with the bar is pretty small.
I never ventured upstairs, but the downstairs is pretty small as lewis said. Some covered outdoor seating as well.
Upstairs is great. There’s a decent amount of seating between it, the downstairs, and the covered outdoor.
I just spent five days in your town and I have to say, I love it. My uncle is a chair at GA Tech so he lives in mid-town in one of those new high rises. Beautiful views from the roof top pools and lounge area. Two Braves games, that is easily my favorite MLB park I've ever been to. Not a bad seat in the house and plenty of unique aspects. Huge fan of the Battery area around there. CFB HOF was great. The cylcorama was AMAZING at the history museum Food was amazing. I'm not a cunty eater, very meat and potatoes type guy. Krog St Market, Fred's Meat and Bread. Amazing burger. BBQ at Fox Bros, including one of the best apps I've ever had in the chicken fried ribs. Breakfast at Home Grown GA (which appeared to be the hipster headquarters of ATL.) Looking forward to a return trip soon.
Been to Nats, Rockies, Twins, Reds, Cardinals, Marlins, Ray's, Royals. Curious what the locals don't like about it?
I mean the physical stadium and surrounding areas. I can't think of anywhere else that's even close. *Maybe* the cardinals, but it's not on the same scale.
It was a big (and crooked) thing to pull the Braves from downtown to Cobb County. The park/area is great for what it is though.
Some of our in town guys have a tough time with the new stadium since the Braves technically left town. They were pretty successful with what they were trying to accomplish with the battery though imo.
Sorry for preferring to haggle with a scalper for 5 minutes, pay an outlandish amount to park in a weird field that the guy charging almost assuredly doesn’t own, passing by a ton of non-licensed merch on my way to get rip shit drunk in the parking lot that used to be Fulton County Stadium. Gimme that over Wahlburgers any day.
Thought I had found this awesome hack where I parked in a church parking lot on the other side of 85. They even had a couple guys that watched the cars. Then someone knocked my driver side window out with a chunk of asphalt and stole all my shit.
Cherry on top was the police telling me it would be a couple hours before they could get to me and it was probably best for me to just go home because I wasn't in a very good area.
I once had a kid at Turner tap me on the shoulder and try to sell me a magazine subscription.. I was peeing at a urinal.
There's definitely better pizza options in the neighborhood these days. Ammazza might be my favorite pizza place in the city but it’s much more upscale than Jack’s (glad it’s reopened again after someone drove into it). Glide is closer to Jack’s and far superior imo. Didn’t realize they deliver until recently and it’s hilarious. They send some crunchy dude out on a bicycle and he’s chill as hell.
Cubs, Padres, Giants, Mariners, Rockies, Astros, Pirates, and Baltimore all better by a mile. And being in their actual city helps too.
Was over in Serenbe in South Fulton today. Never been over there before and the brunch was nuts. Best crab cake benny I've ever had.
Anyone have a residential general contractor they’d recommend that does work in Marietta? I close on my first house in a week and need someone to do some exterior repair work and interior renovations.
I gave my guy to MORBO! who lives up in Marrietta a few weeks ago. Not sure if he used him but like I told him I had a few people come to me and he was the best price and did really good work for me redoing my bathroom and floors.
Wife at the Edgewood Poke place the other day saw a lady order 2 different poke bowls.... Sit down to eat them, and then walked back up demanding a refund because "it's raw" and because of that she couldn't eat it... She started raising a huge fuss, and the poor worker was dumbfounded while be berated by this woman. She was apparently super upset that the menu didn't say "RAW tuna" or "RAW salmon", but rather "tuna" and "salmon" Wife was just like
I did. It was a small job for him but he did it as a favor to Gaknight . Good guy, quick and fairly responsive by text. They did good work.
I never watch the local news. It popped on last night and I didn't have the remote. Holy fuck this was a rough weekend. Shooting at state farm seemed particularly fucked.
Bad week for nightclubs. I was just seeing this story about the dj opening fire into crowd. Wtf. Bright side: all the shootings I've seen lately have been at like 3 in the morning.
Video reminded me of this article from a couple weeks ago, about atlscoop and other crime porn accounts. https://iamkingwilliams.substack.com/p/atlanta-is-losing-the-narrative
To quote the great Wayne Campbell on this: I don't even own a gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack.
Solid non answer but yea, complaining about people using guns after being a proponent of those very guns coming into the public’s existence seems upside down.
[The arena or the company Keisha didn't need a fucking Instagram page to ruin her political career. She fucked that up herself. That's one hell of a disingenuous spin job there.
