I moved at this time last year. Comcast internet bill just moved from $50 to $70. How do I move it back?
You’ll have to tell them you’re moving out of the country. I did that and they replied “we wil put you on hold for 6 months.” I said I’m going to Antarctica and I don’t know when I’ll be back, then they let me cancel.
I could be misunderstanding but I don't think he wants to cancel or put his contract on hold. He wants to see if it's possible to avoid the price hike.
So you're saying you just have to cancel then call back the next day and order again and they'll give you a lower rate?
Comcast won’t budge usually. I did extend my promo once by taking on their tv service for a year. Never even opened the box, but when that “trial” ended is when I had to move to Antarctica.
So youtubtv is adding 4K support for 20 bucks a month with unlimited concurrent streams on your home network. thinking about splitting with my family who live in the area. Wonder if there WiFi network counts as 1 tv or if every tv in their WiFi is a separate concurrent stream
Dont forget its free for 30 days if you sign up right away, and half off (so $10/mo) for the first 12 months. I won't be paying full price till July 2022. By then they should have significantly more 4k content, possibly even some of the high frame rate stuff apple is promising.
yeah my SiL and FiL/MiL live near in there Houses. Wondering how the 3 concurrent tv thing would work. Or if I just need to split with one of them
unlimited at home, I would guess limit of 3 additional not counting unlimited at the home wifi location.
That's fair. CFB coming in September on ESPN in 4k. Likely 1 game/week, IMO. See above post about the intro offer, though. You may be forced into a higher price if you sign up later. I'm not positive.
Yes, good call. I didn't look at my offer close enough. Just saw the green font and thought it didn't include a free month....assumed that was a new customer offer.
When i had cox communications it was a yearly phone call and it got old to keep getting the rates dropped to the “new customer” rate.
Really test it out during the trial. Dish's 4k content was unwatchable due to lags, even on a hardwired connection for me. Think I had 100mb/s at that house - not sure if that was the issue
Google giving me the newest Chromecast again for free. Sweet! Email I got from them today so check yours too...
Yes, free for a month, then $9.99 for 12 months. Figured I’d give it a try for football and cancel if enough content isn’t added over time.
Mine auto added the 4K channels to the bottom of the guide, but they only show up if 4K content is on at the moment I think .
This is true. I couldn’t remember if it auto added or not. I was fucking around with my list for a while the other day.
Confused as to why my harmony remote 700 can't learn fire stick 4k commands when it very clearly has an IR sensor
Do any of y’all know if the unlimited streams at home count towards the 3 concurrent? I split YTTV with my brother and a friend. Sometimes we run into issues streaming when the ladies watch The Bachelor
For those that use the Family sharing part of YTTV. I'm assuming it doesn't work if I as the account owner were to do the family sharing with someone a couple hours away?
Fox and Fox Sports has always used cheaper equipment than ESPN or the national broadcasters. Always been a worse picture quality in HD. Was hoping Sinclair would maybe change that with the RSNs they got from Fox, but yea they arent investing money into them.
I live about 25 miles from the primary account holder on mine. From google’s page: Location requirements work the same if you're sharing your YouTube TV membership with a family group. The family manager sets the home area, and all family members must primarily live in the same household. Family group members need to periodically use YouTube TV in your home location to keep access. Otherwise, the family manager will have to change the home location. If the family manager can't change the home location, family group members will need to get an individual membership.
I've read about it. Was looking for someone with real world experience on how it works or if it doesn't work when a group member lives a couple hours away from the family manager account.
I use it at my mom's. Different viewing area. Never been asked to verify location or anything there, while using it on my Roku or firestick. It does ask if I use my iPad. Local Channels are from my area though.
So I'm an old school DirecTV guy that has been with them for 15 years or so. I mainly keep it for sports and alot of the regional sports with ACC Network. That bundled with AT&T fastest internet is running me right at $200 right now. My question to you guys is, should I look at switching to Youtube, Xfinity or something else? I'm tired of paying $200.
Yes, YTTV. Catch is that with the price of internet you’ll probably still be around 125-150 depending on the packages you get if you’re going in yourself.
I pay ~$180 for the "same" as what you have. about $90 each for Fiber + YTTV w/ the new 4k add-on package. FWIW, ACC network is included with YTTV but I do not believe you can get the Bally RSN (e.g. the old regional Fox channels). Not with the main lineup, and not through any add on package.
switching to an internet package might be worth it if your Directv equipment only plays at 30fps. It likely depends on the hardware. Sports content (99% of the content I've seen) is transmitted on YTTV at 60fps, so way smoother.
ATT 1 GB Fiber $69.99 includes HBOMax YTTV $64.99 currently trying out the 4K add on for $9.99. no regrets dropping directv after 15+ years
Anyone use Fubo? I’ve had YouTubeTV for the past few years and like it more than anything else I’ve tried. Fubo seems like it may be better for sports, especially soccer.
I have never actually used them but iirc when I last researched them they did have a lot of niche sports channels but oddly enough they didn't have a deal with Turner so no TNT, TBS, CNN, etc... Also, no unlimited DVR unless that's changed.
