I believe it is 5 hours from San Jose, that includes a ferry. No idea how far south it is from Liberia
I stayed at the GSpot hostel in Lisbon. It’s a party hostel (no shit). Had a great time and met some great people. Don’t fall for the fake blow guys are selling everywhere, but feel free to test some. Not sure it’d be a hostel you’d wanna stay at unless you’re looking to party. Carcavelos beach was decent. Easy to get to by train. The buildings and views in the São Miguel neighborhood were nice.
If she visits the North of Portugal she should definitely visit the Port Wine Cavas in Porto. Porto itself is worth a visit. A boat trip up the Douro is a nice side trip.
In case anyone is wondering about passport turn around, I sent mine off in May expedited and got it back in 5 weeks
Took everyone’s advice from the travel thread, think we’re hitting Yellowstone tomorrow and heading south. As much as I’d like to see SF and the Redwoods it’s just not going to be enjoyable pushing this vacation. We’ve got a lakeside cabin on the west side of Yellowstone tomorrow night and then probably heading to Vegas.
How confident would you be about making travel plans for January 2022? Looking specifically at Patagonia, so Argentina and Chile, both of which have really tight restrictions at the moment.
Week 2 down. Isla Muejeres was fukking amazing. No lie, I could stay there for months. On top of being paradise, the hostel i stayed at (selina) had amazing wifi and i was surrounded by a bunch of other digital nomads. Made a few friends here. Relaxing lifestyle of morning yoga - work - afternoon sunset on the beach. repeat. Ill be back.. Spoiler beautiful women everywhere obviously, i had to drag myself off to tulum. Regretting it, dont like tulum as much.
Rotterdam is a big city, I'd head there for a day or two for sure. I had an amazing time in Leiden. Its a university town. Had some killer Greek food on the canal there. Delft was a nice little quick stop as well. Head over to Gouda and get that unpasteurized cheese you can't get here.
I’ve got a free Hilton night. Where would you all recommend going for one night with the best food/sightseeing options within driving distance of Nashville? Louisville is currently the front runner.
The Hilton Netherlands Plaza is a very cool Art Deco in Cincinnati with a great brunch. Very close to Over The Rhine area for dinner or drinks as well.
Bring your vaccine card and most tickets are $10. If you do the Reds and OTR, basically everything is walking distance if you are so inclined. The street car system also runs an 18 hour loop from the stadium to OTR and back to Fountain Square where the hotel is located. It’s all within a 15-20 block area of downtown.
Just got back from Sandbridge. It was great time. Had 3 good bar restaurants next to us and we went to the boardwalk and ate ate ocean Eddies and watermans on two separate occasions. sandbridge was perfect for our group we had 5 couples and 12 kids.
Been going back and forth but looks like we’re going to pull the trigger on Hawaii for the honeymoon this fall. Looking at being there a full week, starting on Kauai then over to Maui using Hyatt points both places. How many days is a good split? Starting in Kauai 10/29 and leaving either 11/1 or 11/2, heading home 11/5. Or, spend the whole week on Maui?
I am a member. I have not used the deals it sends out too much. But it gives you a good idea of what good deals are, and how often they pop up for locations you might be interested in. The best deal I have grabbed because of Scott's is $200 Nashville to Calgary. I also got Charlotte to Croatia for $600 this summer. That being said I look around on Google flights a lot to plan trips, and use his tips to find things. I've done Knoxville to Bergen Norway for $480, Atlanta to Kona, Hawaii for $350, Knoxville to Reykjavik for $600, and Nashville to Anchorage for $300. Last summer I had Knoxville to Milan for $540, but that got cancelled.
I was in Tahoe (incline village as our base) last week for five days. It was incredible. That's all I've got.
Depends if you want to be adventurous or not. If you want to get out and about, stay on Kauai but don’t be surprised if it’s sleepier than Maui.
Speaking of Maui, I’ll be there the next 10 days best places to eat that isn’t too expensive(so not mamas fish house)
Can't recommend any of the places we ate at this last time other than Flatbread Company in Paia, but that's a chain so not "authentic." Everyone in the family loves their pizza tho Had a great late dinner in Lahaina in 2018 after the magic show, but it's closed down Maui Brewing Company is nothing special, but I'm not a beer person Waikiki Brewing Company food in Lahaina was meh and I don't go to Maui to listen to too-loud country, but the waitress had huge fake knockers We tend to grill our own tri-tip when we're there anyway
Soliciting Côte d’Azur road trip recs if anyone been. Flying into Nice (trying out La Compagnie, so pray for me)
it is completely jarring Looks like Singapore, not Lags as we knew it. Afraid we’re losing our edge. If the tourist family from Idaho don’t see homeless pissing on themselves, get blasted by fluorescent lighting from 8 foot ceilings, and accosted with offers of being driven to Times Square for cheap fare, very cheap fare, how will they know they’re in NYC?
0 idea where you are but if in Wailea, we liked Monkeypod and then next door Pita Paradise which is less busy but really good greek food.
Week 3 down in tulum. Gotta be honest...it was just alright Tulum is where you go with a car a big crew an Airbnb (not a hostel) And most importantly no curfew (11 pm in quintana roo while covid outbreak continues) I mean, i still had fun, visited some cenotes, rented a bike and tried to do as much as I could. Made some friends at the hoestel i stayed at. but it just didnt have the chilled beach vibes I was hoping for. I will say its filled with insanely attractive women. I stayed in the centro area, which is a bit far off from the hotel zone. We went ot clubbing one time. the hotel zone is a long strip of bougie beach bars one after another. Not much point in paying an $80 entry fee to a bar that closes within a couple hours, like i did one time. i didnt take many pics this week, this is of the cenotes, the downtown sign and the hostel i was staying at Spoiler
Buddy, i know this was a trhowaway comment you mande a few months ago, but drinks on me if we ever meet. Woudnt have heard about the place otherwise. I may never leave here
