well this was a great twitter thread (and i'll be doing a rewatch again here very soon after reading through the whole thing)
Never has anyone tapped directly into my exact feelings like that before. Loved Bill Lawrence and Coach Beard finding the thread.
Fantastic read. Just started a rewatch last night and now I want to stop working and go finish it. Ted Lasso makes me want to be a better person.
The “BBQ sauce” thought about being a call back to happy memories/his dad is a brilliant call. And I think completely accurate. The fucking writing is so good.
Someone's mention in this thread caused me to rewatch through the credits of Ep9 to see Roy reach up and touch the BELIEVE banner. Got a little dusty up in here.
I didn't know Bill Lawrence was the show runner until after I saw it, but there really are so many similarities to Scrubs, particularly in the way they hit you with a hammer emotionally just when you think everything is going great and will work out.
I will get many "boo this man"s, but I never got much into Scrubs, mostly because I could not get past McGinley's character. Got on my nerves, what can I say.
I was all set ton give you a pass, but your reason is that you don’t like Dr. Cox? That is a BOO THIS MAN take off the ever was one
ah ep 3 just fucking kills! the last 5 minutes, with reading of the newspaper article "his coaching style is subtle and he never hits you over the head. and you can't help but root for him"
Why does Nicole Auerbach get to watch 8 episodes before I do? She writes about college football. I watch college football. Seems like I should get to watch the first 8 episodes of Ted Lasso now.
