I loved 2.3. This is exactly what I expected out of this show, I just didn’t know what form it would take. I missed that it was mike’s birthday, so I feel a little bad about cheering him getting shit on.
I just realized Ben Sinclair (One of the creators/stars of HBO's High Maintenance) wrote and directed Ally's Toast as well as the first three eps of S2. All of this thought-provoking/deeply saddening eps now makes sense.
I'm still not over the fact that HM was canceled. But I'm glad to see Sinclair still putting his creativity out there.
Interesting to me that he rode with GaTa and the rest of the crew pretty much fell out. I assume it’s a version of what happened in his actual career.
I’m not ready to assume him and Elz fell out yet they were always doing their own things in season 1 but would link up on occasion to do stuff together. That’s the thing about the show outside of Gata you really didn’t see the side characters in every episode in season 1 and I assume that will be the same thing this season just rotating which side character is featured in each episode
That was probably the weirdest 40 minutes of television that I've ever seen. Show has a crazy way of going from bizarre to funny to hitting an emotion. S1 was better to me so far, but I'm still into it.
Lol was wondering if he’d reference that “Kareem Abdul, Kareem Abdul Jabbar” line from his Sway freestyle.
S2E2 had to be tied to “Pillow Talking” right? Was really hoping for more there bc that song kills me, I can imagine a few scenes tied to that could be great.
The plot at this point is basically “Dave has no ideas and can’t make music” and they’re really hammering that home
S2 has been tough bc the main characters are struggling and LD is being very unlikable. Hopefully we get a revelation soon / pay off. I love the show but yeah its hard to root for anyone right now.
I'm not sure what show you're watching but this season has been about 100x less serious than last season.
Maybe it’s just the music choice but something about it feels like they are trying to be serious. Last season felt like it was some random shit that would happen, this season feels like they are portraying how stuck he is so maybe it’s just that they haven’t moved on from that.
every episode this season makes me feel like i'm watching uncut gems. just feels like we're stuck in every character's personal anxiety attack. kareem stuck in the bathroom freaking out the intern stuck in jail and freaking out gata getting pranked and freaking out mike turning a year older and freaking out benny thinks he has cancer and freaking out dave freaking out for the majority of every episode etc, etc, etc its just unpleasant to watch at this point
This is a great comparison. Im not an axious person but it's such an uncomfortable watch. I still like the show though
When that first promotional video came out where he was crossing the street with a sloth, I figured it was just LD being too weird/me not getting it…but it actually might sum up the season.
so is the peak of this season gonna be Dave getting a pet anteater to deal with the problem at the house?
This seems incredibly logical in the world of this show. I’m still trying to figure out what money he has, throwing 5k at the school seems like something that will be an issue down the line.
That was so much better. Not the funniest, but I prefer the more realistic character development. Wtf is going on with Mike? Gata at least managed to hold together through all that crap, but Mike is a trainwreck.
Still thinking about last week's episode. So goddamn good. Made me really like Doja Cat too, who up until now I assumed was a Cardi B/Megan Thee Stallion knock-off.
Not uncircumcised, but weird: https://hiphopdx.com/news/id.61395/...g-rare-penis-disorder-as-dave-season-2-wraps#
Mentioned before, but his acting has gotten pretty good over each episode. Guy is multi talented for sure
