Predictions? I'm thinking:

Kerber in 3
Sabalenka in 2

 

Really hope Ash has her A-game today, because I think this Kerber match could be special.

 

I can’t see Barty losing. I know Kerber has been playing great but 2-0. Going to say Sabalenka in 3.

 

Nadal announces he’s taking a wildcard into Washington and playing the Citi Open.

 

I just get the feeling Ash hasn't been tested during the tournament and now she's going to have to step it up against one of the best grass courter in the world. Kerber at her best can take out anyone.

 

She needed that after her schedule, I think it’s a good thing in the meat grinder that is women’s tennis.

Uh huh - this is that 'mental strength' thing that I keep going on about with Ash. From 5-2 in the first, she's just tightened up for no reason and Angie's beginning to find her groove.

 

Ouch. Barty gonna regret not breaking back there.

Every match I have seen with Barty lately, she kind of falls asleep and has to wake back up.

Well, that first set has to go down as a bit of a choke by Pliskova - three break points at 5-5 that she couldn't convert and then double faults on set point, the first break point Saba had in the set.

 

Last two sets are probably as good as I’ve seen Pliskova play.

 

Nice start for both Matteo and Hubie. Not a ton of nerves out there it seems.
