Fury is a much better boxer. It's not even really close. Wilder's right hand makes him a threat, though. Edit: I misread the question. I think Fury will outbox the shit out of Joshua and likely knock him out.
I’d have to look back but I thought his only knock down was been against Wilder and I don’t think Joshua has anywhere near that type of power. Also Ruiz knocked AJ out so I have no doubt Fury can.
I mean if we're using this logic then Steve Cunningham knocked down Fury so I have no doubt Joshua can
they never been in the ring together all I can do is try an create an informed decision from the information I have. I think Fury will beat Joshua because of the stuff I mentioned. I honestly think wilder vs Joshua would be a better fight than AJ vs Fury.
I would have love to see Wilder fight and beat Ruiz then fight Joshua then have the winner (imo Wilder) fight Fury.
I don't think yall are giving AJ enough credit. He could definitely knock out Fury. He's a better boxer than Wilder. He's got a good jab. He's also huge. His biggest problem is probably his chin. He got fucked up by Klitschko, Ruiz, and a few other times. Having said all of that, would he beat Fury, I have no clue.
You've got to love when Fury was putting his hands behind his back and poking his chin out and then Wilder knocked him down. That was great.
I definitely agree tbh. I think he's a far superior boxer to Wilder. It would just be whether Wilder could lamd a right hand which is basically every match with Wilder. He's also the most athletic of the 3 imo. He's kind of a mix. He's a better boxer than Wilder and he hits harder than Fury imo.
that was dumb but he got back up (something I don’t think most would have done) and imo won that fight. I am going to be honest I’m probably giving Fury too much credit. I personally think Fury is the best HW right now although I like Wilder more.
Fury is the best HW until proven otherwise. AJ absolutely deserves a shot at him. But AJ doesn't have the marquee fight yet (Klitschko was really old) and hasn't proven it near as much as Fury. I think the 1st fight between Fury and Wilder was a draw. Fury obviously outboxed the shit out of him. Although Wilder boxed much better in the 1st fight than the 2nd. But Wilder knocked down Fury twice. And the 2nd knockdown was a more devestating knockdown than the 1st. So I think Wilder did enough and landed enough power punches to make it a draw. The 2nd fight was just a bloodletting. It seems like part of the problem in the 2nd fight was Fury was so much bigger than Wilder. Fury was like 280 and Wilder was like 235. Fury didn't really respect Wilder in the 2nd fight. Fury gave him much more respect in the 1st fight. In the 2nd fight Fury went straight at Wilder and Wilder had no answer.
In the second fight Fury busted his ear drum and he never seemed to get his legs back and the fight was kind of decided then. So many of these fights hinge on one thing that can happen at any time. Makes the division extremely volatile but also a lot of fun.
Wilder never developed as a Boxer but yes his power always gives a what if so you wanna watch but there is also a good chance he loses every round and I get PPV buyers remorse . I just don’t think more than 2 fights was necessary vs Fury
Yeah I think he was out boxed pretty definitively in both fights and I kind feel like I don't need to see any more of it.
Joshua looks great and is marketable as hell, but he's fought 25 times against tomato cans and near retirees. If he weren't a British gold medal winner, he wouldn't be regarded like he is.
Completely forgot about that. I think that was definitely the difference in the fight. And I want to see what is going to happen in the 3rd fight without something crazy like that happening. If you go back and watch the 1st 2 rounds Wilder was actually hanging in there and landed some power shots. He was totally fucked after the ear drum thing.
Fury is the best heavyweight on the planet, and I don't think that it's particularly close. Wilder was about a quarter of an inch from knocking him the fuck out in the first fight (if that left after the second knockdown connected, no way Fury gets up). I'm not going to complain about a third.
I think he's a beast. You're right , he hasn't fought anyone. But I think he's going to prove he's legit when he faces some legit fighters.
Yeah I don't get the need to pretend Joshua hasn't fought anyone. Vlad, Whyte, Joseph Parker, Ruiz Povetkin are not tomato cans
I’ll go watch both fights again and this time sober but I don’t remember thinking the 1st was a draw at all. I know you guys aren’t doing it but dismissing that Fury landed a punch that busted his ear drum is weird. He landed a devastating punch like Wilder did in the first fight. Saying I would like to have seen what the fight would have been without something that occurred in the fight doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like saying if Wilder doesn’t knock Fury down twice Fury would have won that first fight. That’s not the way things work.
No , most people thought Fury won the first fight. I'm in the minority. I just think Wilder landed the bigger shots and it was impressive that he knocked him down twice, and the 2nd knockdown was pretty wicked. I think Wilder landed more powerful shots. Fury certainly outboxed him.
It's insane that Fury is 6'9 and moves around as much as he does. He uses more head movement and more movement in general than any other fighter in the HW division . That is nuts considering he's fighting at like 260-280 pounds.
No. I don't think either is a particularly great win considering the point in Wlad's career. I think Wlad at 29 would have beaten both.
The Fury v Wlad fight was the opposite of entertaining. Joshua Wlad was super entertaining . They could have easily called the fight at one point against AJ. AJ was out on his feet.
Okay? I never brought up Fury's resume. I just said that Joshua is regarded as a better boxer than he is because of his being a British gold medal winner (and cash cow).
I think Fury won both fights and I don't really care to see the third. That doesn't keep me from being able to discuss what happened in the fight.
huh? I honestly don’t know what you mean, I don’t think I said anyone was unable to discuss anything. The ear drum thing just reminded me of the “if not for those long runs we held him in check” argument. Saying “ If he didn’t land that punch things in the fight would have been different” doesn’t make sense to me because of course they would have. But, It wasn’t a freak accident or self inflicted injury. It was punch landed in the fight.
These fuckers just need to fight and put an end to all of this nonsense. If Fury just dominates Wilder that will definitively put any argument to bed.
