Robert Evans called him the most privileged person ever and after listening it’s really hard to argue against that.
Yup. That really stuck w me. It's a perfect episode to have some listen to the believes in the boot strap bs
Has anyone listened to Robert Evans audiobook yet? I figure If anyone it’s his biggest fanboy - Beeds07
Lol I haven’t yet. If loving a podcast about how awful famous people are is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.
It’s one of my favorite podcasts. I’ve been meaning to tell this story - Someone unintentionally trolled my homeboard. They typical chuds were bitching about Bill Gates and someone recommended the podcast. So many comments about ‘This is a great idea but it’s unlistenable. He said 18 year olds shouldn’t be allowed to play football or join the military! He’s shutting all over capitalism!”
Finally got around to listening to How Did This Get Made and there were about 3 funny lines in the hour I made it through And that was for a highly recommended episode
Do apps like pocketcasts not grab them from Spotify? I feel like I've been able to get everything that isn't like paid subscription-based from there
My assumption is that the host won’t make them available to any of the aggregator services but I don’t get pie $4 million a year to evaluate podcast distribution.
I’ve been pretty fortunate that none of the podcasts I listen to have gone to an exclusive service. It’s a minor miracle with how many I listen to. I also use pocket casts. I looked up Joe Rogan and the last one available is from February. That’s the only exclusive one I could think of off the top of my head. Im assuming they won’t be on anything else
It’s one of my favorites but it’s not for every body. It also helps to be a regular listener and understand the inside jokes, and the dynamics between the three primary cast members also.
I’ve listened for going on 6 years and have listened to every movie episode (I usually skip the minisodes). The early episodes are a little better in some respects because they were taking movies everyone knew and dragging them which was fun (Anaconda is an all timer episode for me), now they’re into mostly niche or forgotten movies because they burned through the archive of like truly great options imo.
I just listened to all 80+ episodes of office ladies in the past like 3 weeks Nothing ground breaking but it’s fun to listen to if you enjoy the show. Also helps keep my mind occupied during the workday
I really liked To Live and Die in LA season 1. Binged it pretty much straight through in a day. Season 2 is ok, but there’s something that almost instantly made me really dislike the host this season.
Listened to The Line, the Eddie Gallagher thing. It was aight, worth a listen His wife somehow comes off worse than the psychopathic killer
Listening to Bunga Bunga right now. I typically like wondery’s stuff but am a little disappointed in it.
In all my years of listening to Comedy Bang Bang, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a worse attempt at a character than Jessica Jardine’s Wolfgang Puck
don't want to work today. What are your top 5 podcasts ever? you can set the criteria for your list. Weekly listens, short, concise, and well-produced series -- up to you.
Hardcore History if you haven't already. Carlin is a master at doing the best version of longform history education. Doesn't matter which topic. They're all great, although the Mongols series was awesome because I knew very little about it prior to the pod.
You Must Remember This' series on the Manson Family was really good. Lime Town season 1. The Black Tapes.
Speaking of Hardcore History, the mock Hardcore History on the Game of Thrones war of the 5 kings was actually incredible.
Comedy Bang Bang Doughboys Hollywood Handbook Then I’m not sure, some mix of All Fantasy Everything, How Did This Get Made and Threedom. And then sports-wise, I listen to several NBA and FSU ones and never miss the Nolecast.
first list that comes to mind for me Dissect - specifically Kendrick Lamar TPAB season Floodlines - Atlantic podcast on Katrina Pardon My Take - have put in countless hours, has replaced all sports radio for me -- but don't really listen anymore, has lost its charm. Mickstape / Fun Report / Not Here to Argue ....anything Trill Withers not sure where to go with 5.
Hardcore History NPR Throughline Stuff You Should Know Historium (severely underrated, typically around 40 mins) Move the Sticks
I can’t really put my finger on it. Something about the way he presented the background just made me go ‘ugh, this guy kind of sucks.’
