I can't speak to other areas but in the Triangle, there aren't many new starter homes being built. On new builds, you either have townhomes or 4+ bedrooms priced at 500k+.
Honda Hawk I get my wife a new work laptop every 5-6 years. Microcenter usually has an acer 315 for between $400-500. I've gone with those on the last 2 purchases and have been happy both times
Did you get the lumbar support and / or adjustable arms? Most complaints seem to be about those 2 components & I’m interested in your take
I only have the adjustable arms, I don't have the lumbar support. The basic lumbar support on the chair has been great, I had some back pain from my last chair and this chair really helps.
Cross-posting with the home buying/maintenance thread: Anybody have any experience with outdoor sinks? Looking at these three models: Veradek: https://www.wayfair.com/outdoor/pdp...CC6quubqQpoMtPzhDpNIaL5H1zJsMTmBoCT6cQAvD_BwE https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/grillskaer-sink-unit-black-stainless-steel-outdoor-70489662/ The Veradek looks to be the best, but most expensive. The KoolMore is what I like, maybe a little small, but also a bit cheaper. Can also attach the KoolMoore to the wall.
we should edit the OP to include all the consumer reports photos going forward, here and/or the home buying thread
Like someone else said. Go with Speed Queen. We’ve had ours a couple years and no complaints. No fancy bells or whistles but it does what is supposed to which is clean your clothes. I watched way too many videos when researching and the way most of these newer style machines wash clothes is a joke.
I’ve heard the before. I have a 2yr old LG whose main control board and lcd panel went out. Not even sure that’s the issue so we are just buying a new one. I had Maytag before and loved them.
Can’t recommend the SQ enough. Main reason we got ours is through my appliance friend. I can’t write many more words about a washing machine, but it’s great.
Lorain Furniture on YouTube does some interesting videos on Speed Queen…he even does entire wash cycles where you can watch his towels get clean for 30+ minutes. The video he made on the 2018 model lost him his Speed Queen dealership privileges even though the 2019-current models get good marks on his channel. Granted, even Speed Queen sort of acknowledges the shortcomings by bringing back the model/style they discontinued. He also details one Maytag model that is supposedly as bomb proof as the TC5 models. When my 14 year old washer breaks I’ll go that route. Several of my coworkers take their coveralls home and wash them in their speed queens because they say it does a better job than Cintas. But that’s not saying much.
We are still waiting on landscaping, but getting everything else set up. At this rate, I hope to have everything done by fall, When the weather cools down
Where do you usually buy these from? I see them for $9 on Amazon but there are a ton of t-shirt companies out there.
I have documented in the home owners thread how much I fucking hate appliances including washers and dryers. We had to get another new washer recently so finally went with a Speed Queen and it's the shit. Hopefully it has longevity but you'll legit use your dryer less because the clothes come out so dry. We run every dryer cycle prob 45 minutes shorter than we did with our Maytag front loader washer.
45 minutes shorter than before? We’ve got an LG washer/dryer and 45min will get a load dryer than desert sand.
We would run a normal cycle which would be something like 1:15 on our current Maytag dryer. Now we run quick dry which is around 30 minutes and it's better Those loads were bigger because the Maytag had better capacity but the SQ gets the clothes way dryer than the Maytag ever did before they even go in the dryer.
Team SpeedQueen. I worked at a mom & pop Maytag place through college, and am still friends with the people there. One of my good friends still works there - when I needed a new set I called him and without hesitation, it was "get a Speed Queen, don't even waste your time looking at anything else". As repair guys I know they're biased against working on the fancier shit but I trust them, and so far so good.
Ours somehow wraps everything (flat sheets, pillow cases, anything else that's in there with it) up perfectly in the fitted sheet It's amazing
I pretty much just buy these tshirts https://vuoriclothing.com/collections/short-sleeve-tops?offset=24
Anyone have a rec for a roomba alternative? It’s for an office with three rooms. Laminate and area rug flooring.
I just bought five. All my favorite t-shirts are next level brand. Thanks. Fresh Clean Tees has been popping up in my feed a lot lately, but they’re 3x more than these. I too am a thrifty dad.
Have to catch them when they release to get the good colors but wolf vs goat has the best tees without a close second. They use crazy materials, construction, and dyes. Their roll necks and regular tees are great. Come winter time their isn’t a close second for best beanies. Members get 50% off everything. Still not cheap by any means but a complete steal at the price point.
