their facebook page hasnt been updated since january. google says theyre open and some yelp reviews from mid march best wings in asheville imo
google says they are open and there are multiple reviews there within the last week sounds like someone is trying to deceive us all
Looks like Buxton is opening a chicken joint on patton. Buxton Chicken Palace, (56 Patton Ave.) Elliott Moss’ fried chicken sandwiches will take center stage along with other chicken offerings.
On the way, I’m a big fan of Shortoff mountain for about a 5 mile hike with great views and Fonta Flora Whippoorwill for drinks. Actually just left there on Sunday. In Boone, can’t go wrong with AMB or Lost Province imo.
Just got in town today. The brisket sandwich at Burial is damn good. Planned too late for a Curate reservation so had to willy-nilly.
Heading up Friday morning and staying until Monday. Tobias et al., what bars/breweries will be best for Euros? Honestly can’t remember which breweries have TVs. Probably hitting Sierra Nevada on our way in…surely they’ll have them?
sierra doesnt have tvs olde london road is the place for soccer. i cannot speak to their new facility tho. Room 15 has been iirc. the owner is a big west ham fan from england and he's incredibly nice and friendly. asheville pizza had a big projector set up for the world cup and CL final in 19. i enjoyed it
Awesome, many thanks. I couldn’t remember about Sierra. I know Bhramari typically puts up a projector for big games too.
can confirm OLR is the place to go. New place is 10x better than their downtown dungeon they used to have. Get there early if there’s a match you really want to watch. rest of the breweries are hit or miss. Dirty Jacks (old Green man) will have TVs. New green man likely will too.
i liked the dungeon even if i have ptsd of celebrating the supposed winner too early in the 19 QF and the whole bar turning on me
i remember when i first moved there, hi wire brewing proclaimed itself the home of asheville soccer and sponsored the team there. went there to watch a city game at 12:30 on nbc and they didnt have it on and couldnt figure out how to get nbc on. so don't go there they suck
soccer. that was back in april 2017 so i assume they have figured out the operation since but just on general principle i won't return after that first debacle their beer is pretty meh to me too
I'm there Sunday 8 am until Tuesday 8 am..... I need 2 lunch and 2 dinner rec's please and thank you.
it’s way out of the way but i used to live in the apartment across the street from fat catz and they have fantastic wings and great prices if for some reason you’re in south asheville, stop there. owner is a good dude too
Had an awesome dinner at Chestnut over the 4th and a really nice lunch at Mayfell’s. Rhubarb and Curaté always deliver, too. Lunch for us is usually brewery/food truck/etc. There are so many good options you really can’t go wrong.
I trust you. Many places were already full like Curate. Just booked Admiral for Sunday night ($50 hold) and Limones for Monday. Thanks.
Re: Bars... I'll be with a girl and we normally do cocktails over beer. Yacht club looks great. Any other places?
We like Sovereign Remedies and Top of the Monk. All of the aforementioned dinner restaurants have awesome bars and cocktail programs, too.
Catawba falls, right off 40, easy drive and easy hike. Antidote is my favorite cocktail bar. Hemingways is an awesome spot to grab a drink if weather is nice and great drinks. Top of the monk is still undergoing renovations I think. Cocktail bar in the S&W building is pretty cool too
The bar in S&W only seemed to have beer? While it is still fresh on my mind.. Great eats: Admiral Limone Curate Ukiah Ito Ramen White Duck Temple Taco (breakfast) Bars: Antidote Yacht Club Sovereign Remedies Hemingway Ito Ramen is exceptional. House brothless ramen, Japanese oysters, avocado balls… you won’t regret it.
Sorry I should’ve been more clear. There’s a cocktail bar next door (although I think it’s technically the same building). glad you liked Antidote, it’s my favorite too
