I posted to vent - didn’t have anywhere else to get that grief out, and hadn’t fully read the last few pages. So sorry for texasraider a.tramp adephoi loss as well. We got our doggo’s ashes today and plan on spreading her remains at all of her favorite places. Hope that everyone is able to do their own thing to honor their buddy’s memory and hopefully more happy pup posts soon, rather than all this bad news.
Dump do you have any recommendations for ointments/drops for a dog with chronic dry eyes? They gave us the remaining tube of Optimmune for Mack, but that's run out.
I love this motherfucker so much. Grilled with me tonight. Drank with me today and is now watching boxing with me. He is my boy. Brought him home some shit from the dog bakery. He didn’t let the brownies hit the ground lol
I love Flash too. But, she is more the family doggo Groot was bought by me for me because of some bullshit I had to do with my all white.
Got to see one of our favorite ever fosters yesterday at our fundraising event. We pulled this girl from the shelter when she was 8 weeks old with a broken leg from getting hit by a car. I carried her everywhere for three days until she could get her surgery, took care of her through her rehab, and by crazy chance she found the most amazing family. Just a great story for her, and this what I point to when people ask how we can foster and give them up when they go to their forever homes.
Oh no, this is the perfect place for it. I just meant that it's a reminder of the highs and lows of bringing one of these fellas into the family and I feel for my internet friends who are going through those lows.
Scrolling through Netflix for something to watch and, as you can see, Darwin picked a movie. Hachi. Fucking onions everywhere.
why would you do that to yourself everyone knows Hachi is like the #1 saddest dog movie of all time there is a dog statue of him in Japan iirc
So Tosu likes to go into our unfinished basement to lay down cause it's cold, and cause the cat food is down there. Lately he's been pissing on our dryer. He's 3, and he knows better. He never pisses in the house, but this is like 3 times now he's pissed down there. Besides keeping him out, how do we get him to stop? He knows what to do to get our attention if he needs to go out. He's also a husky, so I don't want to banish him from the basement, but I think we're going to have to. (also, there's a cat door in the basement door and he somehow squeezes himself through it, or can use it to pull the door open, so we're going to have to block it.
Had to put down my lab yesterday. Rescued him back in August of 2009. Bo was an amazing dog, came along way from being abandoned in a cemetery in south Alabama as a puppy to spending a few years at a fraternity house in auburn to his golden years living at the beach with a pool/water bowl that he could never finish. Can take some comfort that he joined his best friend Brewer(yellow lab) my brothers dog that had to be put down earlier in the year.
Was a very tough decision but he had an enlarged heart literally and figuratively, mobility had really been limited the last year or 2. His breathing had become very labored with a lot of wheezing from his heart putting pressure on his lungs over the last week or 2. We took him to the vet last Friday and they offered to start on him a new medication that may have alleviated some of the symptoms but it wasn’t guaranteed to help. Unfortunately came to the conclusion that anything at this point to delay the inevitable was just me being selfish. I didn’t want him to suffer any. He got a couple steaks over the weekend and two bowls of ice cream at the vet yesterday. Haven’t cried that hard in a long time.
Totally understandable. My dog dying last year is the hardest I’ve ever cried and I still get sad about it.
Anyone ever had problems with their dog not eating? Sully will eat human food, treats, etc so I don’t think it’s his appetite. It just seems like he’s tired of his regular food. We’ve tried different foods and putting broth on it, but he just nudges it away. He’s acting completely fine otherwise or I’d be a lot more worried.
have my dog's 2 yr bday party tonight and he could not be any happier watching Olympics Dressage after birthday cake
Any ideas on this? He's been licking the same paw almost non stop for a couple days now. At first he had no signs of pain, but this morning he was limping and didn't want to be touched. Setting up a vet appointment.
My man's as tall as the countertops now so he took it upon himself to help wife unload the groceries.
My uncle is such a dingus His sister sent a group text to their family letting everyone know they have to put Bamboo (their dog) down on Monday and that they're all very emotional. My uncle has been around this dog plenty of times, but he's the type of guy who asks how old you are 2-3 times every family gathering, so he doesn't retain much He responds to the text saying "Why? We just put some down last summer and we love it. Very durable." His sister responded and let him know bamboo is a dog. My uncle is now mad "why would they name a dog that!?"
For his first birthday, Carlos got his balls chopped off. For his second birthday, he had a cheeseburger, chased pigs, bit cows, stomped on cats, and wrestled with his buddy. Big upgrade.
I never post her in here but this is Magnolia. She turns two this week and is the smartest dumbass around. I still have no idea how she got in the washer, got home from work and showered then just caught her in there and she was all “uhhhh hey, what’s up”
Very impressed with how Dierks did the last 3 days. Moved from WI to Denver in a CRV packed with everything I wanted here. 17 hours driving, a stop at a hotel, and a new place. He had no quarrels and couldn't be any better than I want.
Just found out my ex gf's dog (we got her as a puppy, had her for about 5 years before we split) has osteosarcoma in her hind leg. Was supposed to amputate last night and start chemo. Probably 6-12 months left was the diagnosis but, did find out it doesn't appear to have spread, so maybe she's in the clear? I haven't seen her in a couple years. She just got put on anxiety medication last year, which really seemed to increase her quality of life. She had instances of random attacks, previously.
