I have a lot of 8x10s and jerseys and stuff I've gotten in person. In the man cave I have a full sized signed helmet going on one side of room and need something bigger to go on other side to balance it out. Was thinking maybe a basketball in a case instead of another football helmet since I don't have many real basketball memorabilia but maybe I should just get another football helmet
My guess is yes and probably to have that much prizm they probably knew a vendor or just kept wiping out the stores following them.
That would be amazing to watch. Just a rough estimate, but my guess is there is close to $10,000 in product at retail price.
Target drop. Think I actually just got Prizm NBA. The wife has a red card and it was a red card exclusive so it didn't sell out instantly
https://www.target.com/p/2021-panini-nba-prizm-basketball-trading-card-mega-box/-/A-81588851 Appears to still be in stock if you have red card
I missed the first week or two that they did it, then realized the wife had a red card already. Loaded on my account now
So how do y'all organize your stuff? Mine is quickly getting out of hand and im not sure what to do with them. I'm stashing all the RCs and pulling out inserts and rare cards, but now I've just got dozens of stacks of cards all over the place, literally probably thousands of cards that aren't commons but aren't high $ either.
i have a buddy with two young boys, i box 'em up and take them over there. what they do with them, i dont care lol
I actually switched to smaller boxes and have it by set and label each box with the set. I use trading card dB to upload my cards so I can track what I have that way
Everything I've got this year and last I have. Haven't gone back and uploaded my childhood cards yet. It's not hard if you keep up with it. Just open up the checklist and click boxes. Doesn't take that long
If I have a lot of one set I give it it’s own BCW box based on count. If I don’t have a lot I mix them in based on sport/year.
So y'all just sort of keep (for instance) all Topps Series 2 by itself in a box, inserts, parallels, everything that isn't worth slabbing or holding separately?
Yep, I have 200, 300, 600 count boxes etc to put cards in. Sometimes combine sets into same boxes if I don't have enough. Edit here is an example. I have a closet I put some of those cheap target cube shelves in and put them on that
I dont sleeve base. My general rule is I'll one touch cards worth over $25, usually topload cards worth about $5 or more and put chrome rookies in sleeves in case they have future value they don't get surface scratches. Base everything else just in those boxes
Obviously lots of money there in used lottery tickets (base), but children's hospitals, schools, etc. I learned math from the back of sports cards, with averages in baseball, punting, wins and losses etc. Just a thought
I'd love to donate some, I actually looked into at beginning of pandemic and all the companies I found that do card donations said basically they had too many base cards and weren't taking any more.
Local schools always look for "clubs" to get kids into. Start with a principal or guidance counselor. We had one when I was in 5th grade that would buy packs of pro set football 1992 and let us divide it up amongst the club. Was awesome
If you find a place taking donations let me know. I tried multiple places last year and no one wanted them
I throw away base cards that aren't rookies, 1sts, parallels........don't hate me Unless it's an expensive set, but true for Bowman and such
Donate them to Goodwill as art collectibles and just take the write-off at tax time. But put them in a box and donate other stuff along with it. Otherwise eventually you have to start taking stuff to other locations to get rid of it.
What’s one card you sold that you wish you kept? Back in 2005 I bought a lot on eBay for cheap that included a Carmelo Finest Gold rookie /25. I sold it at the time for more than I paid for the lot, I think around $400. Not sure what I can get for it now but I know significantly more than that.
