One could argue Max thought he was ok, and may have been, if Lewis stayed inside after committing to the inside.
To change my tack for a second, Leclerc shouldn’t really be in first, passed after the yellow almost certainly was being waved.
I have no idea what the rules are or who was at fault, but this is great drama for this race and moving forward.
Not so sure on that. He passed as Lewis was trying to get back on the racing line. Pretty bang, bang.
What I don't get is why the stewards can't make a decision one way or another before the restart of the race. It's not like they're doing anything else and they've had plenty of time.
I assume that Perez’s hard tire choice out of the restart means he is going for a one stop late stop. Still doing a good job climbing up with the harder compound although stuck behind Gasly/Raikonnen.
Even if it’s temporary and a pit stop difference illusion, seeing Ferrari 1-2 is not what I thought I’d see today.
Still a W for Ferrari, I dont think anyone would've picked them to pull away from Hamilton after the restart
For anyone that thinks of cheering this victory for Hamilton, realize that you are on the same side as Tom Cruise.
I thought Leclerc just went too far on the outside and didn’t steer enough and caught the edge of the curbs.
Looked like LEC ran himself off. Hamilton was pretty tight to the corner. LEC had a hell of a race especially with the engine issues
Props to Danny Ric for holding Sainz off for as long as he did. Felt like Sainz was within DRS range for 20+ laps.
I still respect Lewis in a lot of ways but today felt very.....if you can't beat them, wreck them. Thank god Max wasn't seriously injured.
I can’t stand the announcers lumping bold/stupid decisions in with good racing. Lewis tried to squeeze into a lane that wasn’t there and all of a sudden it becomes Max’s burden to avoid him. Dumb.
“I was fully alongside him” no ya jerk, your front left clipped his back right, can I offer you a lesson in geometry or something?
I haven’t been around the sport long enough but Reddit thread on the crash is highlighting that Lewis did the same thing twice to Albon while he was at RB.
