- They picked the right winner for the Men’s match - Should’ve been Liv Morgan in the women’s match though
Sucked they put his push on back burner, but I think it was absolutely the right call. His title win and chase needed to be in front of fans
Think edge may win tonight. Could tell some interesting stories with usos being champ and Reigns no longer being one
Lmao looked like Roman kicked out before ref got there, then went back down and kicked out at 2 again
That's probably the loudest Cena pop since the Royal Rumble he came back in at MSG. Wasn't that like 2008?
Being away so long, plus him doing the right thing putting over Bray on his way out I think won over fans. I think he's fine in stuff like this as long as he's not going super Cena.
Picked up at the end, that was a 40 minute match that could have been a 20 minute match and accomplished the same thing
So on Smackdown you got champion Roman who just screwed over Edge who I'm sure is going to want a rematch, who have Seth calling dibs on the next match, you have a returning Cena and now you have the mitb winner on your roster. Raw title picture is....Drew again? A retired old guy coming back? Smackdown is a much more interesting show going forward. Not to mention Charlotte is champ AGAIN on raw
So in a smart wrestling world, you would’ve had - Liv winning MITB - Rhea retaining, Becky returns post match to confront her - Lashley vs Kofi being competitive at least
Agree with Liv winning for sure. Rhea feels lost to me right now. Big fan of hers still, just think Charlotte is the best woman in the roster. Hated Kofi being squashed, but Lashley is a monster and good for him.
Hard to get Rhea over when anytime she gets going super Charlotte beats her. WWE switched from Divas belt to SD and Raw belts 5 years ago. Charlotte has now won BOTH 5 TIMES. Also throw in a NXT and a tag championship in that 5 year spell, that also included a cumulative about a year off for injuries and other stuff. It's absolutely insane. Edit to add she was also the final divas champion and had that belt leading into this 5 year reign of terror
Is there a compelling reason to watch Raw? Goldberg (??) coming for Lashley Charlotte is champ again Did you know Shaemus is the IC (or US)champ? I literally cannot think of a single reason to tune in, other than to see a live crowd boo it mercilessly
Quick thoughts: --I don't see a reason to bring Goldberg back. Big E going after Lashley with the briefcase to avenge Kofi/Woods is an absolutely fine and logical storyline. --Crowd was white hot. --Charlotte/Rhea was excellent. --Putting the briefcase on Nikki is as bad as Otis. Should've had Tamina injured and have Becky replace her. If not, put it on Liv and let her grow into the role over the next year. --Shouldn't be having title changes on the preshow. Raw title match should've been on the preshow for sure. --I get that they wanted to milk their first show back, but man 3.5 hours is a long time. No reason not to start shows at 7. Same criticism for AEW PPVs. --The pops were fun, but we really shouldn't be needing to bring back Cena and Goldberg for the titles at SummerSlam. That's an indictment on your inability to build stars. The main event scene is really old. You have two of the best talents on the planet in AJ Styles and Kevin Owens. Push them to the moon. I have no doubt KO would be the biggest star wrestling has seen since Stone Cold if he was in AEW.
You realize Cena and AJ Styles are the same age right? And apparently Cena is running a full time schedule. Now I agree about Goldberg but I guess he has a 2 match a year contract. Lashley beating him isn't going to be meh, but whatever.
