Wasn't the last game you went to was rained out then the Braves were no hit all day during a double header on Sunday by the Diamondbacks of all teams. Then yesterday you posted the Mets up 6-0 early and the Mets naturally came back on top of being optimistic about making the playoffs.
You can have that I'll take the other two. But I hope the game is better your second go around. That sucks to have it rained out after planning a trip.
Realistically, what could we get in return for Freeman? Assuming AA would have to go high, you know, because Freeman was the MVP last year and starting to heat up. It makes me sick to my stomach over Melancon, and because of that, solely, I have no idea.
It’s a pointless conversation, because Liberty wouldn’t allow it. The rest of the summer nobody would show up if Oz was your only draw.
We have absolutely no business trading Freddie Freeman. He's going to re-sign in Atlanta, trading him is a fucking amateur panic move.
I’ve shifted back to thinking he will resign. We have the money going forward and he’s worth it in performance and fan draw. Plus, he’s a loyal guy who wants to win. Not sure the Dodgers are looking at first base help and the Angels never seem capable of winning.
I don't have a problem with paying him at 31 either because he stays in good shape, his contact tool is elite, and he's really solid fundamentally so he should age fairly gracefully.
Fred turns 32 in September which means his new contract will start in his age 33 season next year. Goldschmidt was the same age entering his free agent season and he got 5/$130. Fred’s career numbers are very similar to Goldschmidt’s and he has an MVP. His market will be very comparable, and likely slightly higher. I’d imagine an AL team will try to sell him on the ability to stay in the lineup and DH every so often to keep him healthier as he ages and they will pay him more. Dansby is going to get too expensive for his production as early as this offseason. His arbitration number will go up from the $6m he’s making this year. He’s going to have a market for at least $10m/year in FA, and more likely closer to $12-15m. No way we can pay him that. Especially with our pitching getting more expensive over the next few seasons. So we will need to figure out SS soon too. Assuming we sign Fred for the same deal as Goldschmidt, we will have to pay Oz ($5m in 2022, $7m/year 2023-2027), Ron ($15m in 2022, $17m/year 2023-2028) and Fred ($26m/ year 2022-2026) $46m in 2022 and $50m from 2023-2026. The only way it makes sense to re-sign him is if we decide to bump payroll up to the $190m+ range and hope the NL gets the DH.
It makes no sense they’re not targeting that payroll range already and the NL will have a DH so I’m not sure what the issues are
Touki is the only exciting thing remaining about this season. Also to hate scroll after Snit pressers
racking my brain trying to think of a better 2 hole hitter than dansby and man just can’t possibly think of anyone on the roster
