That sucks. I am at 74 during the day and 71 at night. I have a big Oak tree providing shade during the day, but we also put in new windows, did the blow in insulation and installed a new central air unit. Before we did that work I was lucky to get it to 75 in my house.
My street had 3-4 ft of standing water on it last night. All accumulated between 1 and 2am... apparently the Conner Creek Pump Station went down My basement is "waterproofed" but still flooded. I was asleep on the couch while it happened. My wife went upstairs around 1am. I woke up around 2 surrounded by a foot of water.
Watching the news right now. I-94 in Detroit is pretty much a lake. Wouldn’t be surprised if they cancelled both Tigers games today. None of the workers can probably get to the stadium. Plus power is out downtown
It's been sunny and hot all day, then it dumped buckets of rain for like 5 minutes, and now it's sunny and somehow even hotter. What the fuck.
What are some good hotels in Downtown Detroit? (Apologies if you have a City thread) Walkability to Little Caesars Arena is a plus.
Man is it rough out there today. Relief appears in sight come Wednesday, but this shit sucks right now.
I need to get a couple of trees trimmed up. Anyone in Oakland County have a recommendation on which company to use?
Doesn't Peloton offer that service? Maybe buy a chainsaw with that money you're not using on diapers, you pansy.
I used Shock Brothers out of Warren. They took down two giant oak trees/grinded stumps and they trimmed another big oak. They were affordable and did a great job.
In my experience, everybody has a tree guy and they'll all cut/trim your trees appropriately. And plow your driveway in the winter.
So this recent build down the block from me had a 30 foot limb fall on the roof, basically making the house a total tear down. The roof is bowing out and the side of the house is warped. No way they can just fix that damage. It sounds like the limb was so water logged that it just finally gave way. I wish this had happened on my garage but alas here we are. Everyone is ok, so that’s a positive.
And now it's about to be perfect out...aside from the 8,003,273,723 mosquitos that currently live in Oakland County
