It’s hilarious mma press conferences are always the same 5 reporters and then like random former NFL player. Always wonder how that one dude just always gets the number 1 spot.
Yeah Dana isn’t going to let any reporter he gives access to get out of bounds. Which is funny considering he bitches about the media and he dictates everything from guys he gives access to.
Read an article where burns was basically like "fuck it, I'm not here to entertain people." Ehhhhhhh I mean yea you kind of are.
I mean I guess. That's such a low bar. I think he brings that WWE/story telling aspect to following MMA which is good.
Could you pick any other MMA journalist out of a lineup? Dude has been on top of the game for 15 years.
Brett Okamoto is a solid journalist, and he'll probably be breaking a lot of news going forward with the info UFC gives to ESPN. Kevin Iole is good, but not necessarily a news breaker.
I know a lots of the radio guys but I'm not sure if you'd call them journalists. They are definitely MMA media. What is Josh Rosen up to these days?
The fact that some weirdo gets legit access as some character he created called "the Schmo" is all you need to know about UFC journalism
There was a time when I would have been stoked to see Nick Diaz back in the ring, but with the way I’ve seen fighters fall off after way shorter time away from the sport, I’m just not all that interested. the mma needs to do what the pga does and make a senior league
i've been down a ufc rabbit hole on youtube, watching fights from like 15-20 years ago. the change in the level of boxing/standup between then and now is insane. these dudes were just throwing wild punches all the time
GSP was revolutionary because he used a jab. Like, no one thought to throw a freaking jab before him.
I did this during quarantine and watching some of the old Ortiz/Liddell fights were hilarious. I remember thinking 2 things 1. id hate to get into a bar fight with these guys 2. Jon Jones on a bad day would toy with the peak versions of these cats. I also watched some Lesnar fights and corpses have more head movement than he did
Lesnar really didn't like getting hit. Don't get me wrong, I'd do the same thing, but it was weird seeing a UFC fighter flinch and then turtle like he did.
i know PEDs are still an issue now, but seeing the guys in the 90s is insane. Ken Shamrock looked like he was inflated with a bike pump.
Give me juiced to the gills Kevin Randleman in PrideFC over them all. Who the hell knowsnwhay guys like him and Wandei had coarsing through their veins
It's wild thinking about a guy like Shogun that fought Randleman and Coleman.. And also fought Jones.
i've been trying to match up his fights with whatever weight class he was in at the time. seems like there may have been some shenanigans wrt weigh ins back then
This is why MMA will remain fringe and Dana knows it. That girl walked Barber down and less one spinning elbow dominated the fight. Judges remain absolutely horrible.
