Went to the Nantahala today. Fished below the hydro plant until it started generating, then went above it. Hit for the cycle with the best being this 15"ish brown.

the water in this state is so fucked. The fishing in the bay has been great last few years since catching back up from the big freeze years.

TB has just joined the other estuaries and bodies of water this state has lost probably forever. Apalachicola bay, the Everglades/10k islands, Florida bay, Charlotte harbor, mosquito lagoon, Indian river and biscayne bay on its way

Was trying to figure out how to turn all the old tracks off. There's so many damn tracks I can't even see where I'm going. I know you can uncheck "display" on each one but that would take forever. Or you can just delete them all. I'm considering deleting all of them. There are still waypoints and routes saved so I'd still be good on that.

It's not as bad as you think. The Dream Stream can get crowded, but if you don't mind hiking a little you can always find a good spot.

User HOOSINSC is correct about Tomahawk. Fish get huge there and it's never crowded.

10-4 on deleting them occasionally. But I'm confused about the Florida marine tracks comment. What do the tracks being in Florida have to do with anything?

I love my pathfinder 2200v but it gets beat to hell in chop (although trim tabs really help riding in 2+ foot seas). Has absolutely no V. It's awesome for shallow water fishing though. I was fishing in 2 feet yesterday. Could absolutely not do that in a deep V boat like a Cobia, Contender etc. But for a family boat I'm probably going to have to go with a deeper V next time. Maybe some sort of hybrid.

FMT is a chip with satellite imagery with tracks overlayed. Good for running areas you aren’t familiar with especially if rocky
    https://floridamarinetracks.com/

I was saying I don’t really care about my previous tracks as I have routes from the chip that I know I can run already

It’s Louisiana, a state that not only doesn’t practice conservation, but bitches and moans when it is even discussed. Of course there is a kill category.

Saw a nice daisy chain riding home today. Only had trout gear with me though.

Read Lord of the Fly a month or two ago. The fly fishermen in Homassasa only killed them when they thought it was a world record.

Owner of my local fly shop was a guide during this time down there and mentioned/quoted in the book. He told me his favorite person was the gangster who shot up the restaurant.

That is a whole other level of chase a few levels above your typical redfish sight casting. Might only get a few shots a week.

It was Gary Merriman from the Fishhawk. Got a buddy who fishes in the Don Hawley and other Keys tournaments and his stories are wild.

Would love to catch a 100 pounder one day and keep a scale. Would be the size of a pancake.

Got the call today my new Tibor Everglades reel has arrived. Black with blue knob (and blue backing) is going to look great with my H3D Panda. Turks & Caicos the week before Thanksgiving chasing bonefish. Excited to upgrade from my Orvis Hydros 8 weight reel and re-purpose with 6wt sinking line.

SW Montana is starting to shut down. Inside Yellowstone is Hoot Owl conditions so no fishing from 2p to 7p and expected to further restrict. Seeing the Madison is restricting also.

I started at Looking Glass Creek and fished my way to about 2/3 of the way to the hatchery.

I didn't see another fisherman the entire time, but when I left, most spots were packed out with swimmers. There was a little traffic, but nothing crazy.

Mostly 75-100 ft of water. Inshore rigs and wrecks. egg, swivel, #2 circle hook. Mangrove love the live shrimp. more subtle bite. Reds were usually caught on squid, croaker, shrimp, and we’d cut up small reds that were probably gonna die anyways and use for cut bait. At times were hanging on for dear life in 4-5 ft seas. 25 ft sportsman.

Fished the upper St Joe in Idaho. Had no clue what I was doing (new river). Caught over 20 cutts, saw a moose with baby way too close for comfort.

I fished #10 dry caddis, as well as a hopper/dropper with a pretty large nymph. There was a period of 45 min where every cast on the hopper/dropper received a take.
