I watched the end of the Aftershox and Blue Crew game yesterday. The amount of 'home court advantage' that happened in the final 3 minutes was something to behold. I was rooting for the 'shox, but my goodness I would have been livid if I was a Blue Crew player or fan. Worst was when an Aftershox player brought the ball up the court, down by 1...next basket wins...defender playing 3 foot off of him...he dribbles the ball off his foot out of bounds, and the ref who's right there watching it calls it Aftershox ball. Of course they reviewed it and reversed it. Then Blue Crew inbounded the ball, guy was mugged, coughed up the ball...easy layup to win for da home team. Also Fran Fraschilla was p fiesty on the call. Dropping some 'hells' and calling players out.
This probably belongs in the stupid shit my wife does thread, but my wife totally doesn’t know what at an Elam ending is. Can you guys explain it to her so she doesn’t get mad at me for mansplaining things?
At the first under 4 minute stoppage in play in the final quarter, they take the score of the team winning, add 8 points, and that becomes the target score. First team to that score wins so if it’s 55-50 at the first stoppage under 4, the target score becomes 63, and the first team to 63 wins. It’s cool because you don’t get teams fouling to extend the game, and a lot of times the team in the lead completely panics making for some fun endings
Under 4 mins left in the 4th quarter, team usually calls a timeout to set the score… which is an additional 8 points on top of the team currently ahead. So if it’s 54-52, the score to win is 62 points for both teams
Play the Purdue team next...Hummel is on their team this year. They looked pretty solid yesterday. They have a couple of their old giants.
