Speaking of people weirding wives out, we had Jon's Tree Service remove the tree that fell on our house. They did a good job, and we were really pleased with the work removing the tree and tarping the house. But Jon, the owner of the company, was talking to us in our den and stopped mid-sentence and asked if he could use our restroom. He went and took a five minute dump, washed his hands, and walked up to us and just picked right back up where he left off. It was such a power move, I had to respect it. My wife was unimpressed.
Interesting kind of a coincidence. I had a guy from Joe’s Professional Tree Service (not Jon’s) come give me a quote and when he was done asked if he could use my restroom bc all the gas station ones were shut down due to COVID. He was in there for at least ten minutes.
I can't tell you how many people come into our store and take a massive shit and then just walk out. And I mean decent looking humans, not bums. Hell, I had one guy piss with the door wide open while whistling a tune one time. People are weird.
i was in outside sales for 3 years and it's harder than you think to find public places to use the bathroom. Especially in more rural areas. My go to was always a hotel's lobby but sometimes you had to get creative. Though I never pooped in a jewelry store
We got my wife’s band there think it’s been worked on and had diamonds replace 5 times haven’t paid a cent out of pocket yet but that setting is not up to snuff
Going to want to avoid Clairmont through Forest Park. This is between 42nd Street and Triangle Park. Ground saturation.
It seems like she tries to walk a tight rope between keeping the R’s satiated and being a semi-rational human being
i think it's nice we have a governor that isn't trying to outtrump the next governor with hopes of running for president.
World Games, professional soccer team, professional basketball team, Milo’s, minimal traffic. What a city.
Any corporate folks in here? What is you return to office looking like? I've put it off as long as possible but am supposed to be back at the end of August. Doubting that happens now with the delta shitshow. Just wondering since it seems like all the large companies here get together and do the same thing.
Been back for almost a year now. Everyone will be real serious and careful for a while, then basically say fuck it and act like covid isn’t a thing.
Our company gets us to park at budget. But yeah if I lived in Birmingham and lived halfway close I would Uber
Yeah I've only considered it when my return flight got in late. But it's surprisingly easy to get an uber/lyft late night at the airport.
I've used Alabama Airport Parking in the past. Its just down the street and they shuttle you. It has been so busy you have to reserve a spot typically. It's $8-9 dollars per day.
I guess I just figured Uber would cost a lot Last Uber I took from Nashville Airport to the burbs was like 100 What would an Uber from homewood to the airport cost?
Unless it's a Sunday night around 10pm, in which case it can run up to $50. I had a $40 Uber to Crestline Park late on a Sunday a few weeks ago. Same Uber to the airport was $15.
I prefer to park at the airport because it’s one less point of failure in getting home. I like knowing I can walk straight to my car when I land and won’t be competing for, and at the mercy of, ride share transportation. I’m usually getting reimbursed which also helps. Also, ride share navigation doesn’t avoid train tracks and it’s almost cost me a couple of times and I don’t want the added stress.
