I’ll never forget what Tristan did to Al for years but he’s a broken player at this point. We really need a backup center white OO is out though
Shlenk is the fn man. He absolutely fleeced those 2 bums in Sac and Boston. Wright can back up Trae, start when he rests and let Cooper get all the minutes he needs in College Park. love our roster. We can find a back up 5 for ash tray change down the road
Before today what are the things we thought we could get in a trade involving Dunn and Fernando? Honestly didn’t think we could give them away
Are we just going to bring back Dedmon now on the vet minimum for a half season of back-up center? Doesn’t make sense to spend on someone that isn’t going to play in the last half of the season barring injury.
Look at all the teams that paid mediocre centers the MLE last year Utah- Favors TOR- Banes among others and all are immediately regretting
So just short of a Max deal? would rather something a bit less, but that is not an untradeable contract if it does not work out down the road. Some shit ass small market franchise that can't attract free agents like Charlotte will take him.
We are basically running it back and adding Cam, Hunter, Delon, and 2 draft picks. Embarrassment of riches
It’s going to be 5/120 according to the report. So John’s getting a little more per year and an additional year that he turned down. Hawks are not having to match a poison pill contract. Both sides win in the end.
I heard about him in HS and I admittedly dont pay enough attention to college basketball, but how on earth was Cooper available at 48? I'm not sure what his ceiling is on a team with Trae Young but his highlight tape is insane. Between him and Trae it would be lob city for 48 min if we can get his jumpshot fixed or use him in a consolidation trade down down the line because the talent is there.
1) size 2) his shot 3) he only played a quarter of the season due to ncaa nonsense and then an injury
I'm not going to read much into Cam and Summer League. I always figured it was for the practice time and maybe a little game time. He was never going to be getting 30 min a night there.
By March OO should be healthy and have his strength back. Get him in shape to be a menace in the playoffs.
We can stash Sharife in college park, with the occassional 10-day in ATL right? He is going to need some seasoning imo
Perfect, he needs the experience and fundamental work away from the bright lights until the 2nd half.
This John Collins delay has me watching Jalen Johnson highlights and man what a fun player if he grows up and learns how to shoot. A PF that passes like him would be fun
Cooper isn't long for Atlanta if he's half the talent he looks to be, but a few years of having a guy like him sub in for Trae and we barely miss a beat would be a lot of fun.
And clearly Trae was probably logging slightly too many minutes as the season progressed. Yes, the injury was freak, but the older he gets with his body type, an extra two minutes a game makes a difference come playoffs.
It's only $170 as long as the old men yelling at clouds keep hating on him and keeping him off all NBA teams.
at 5pm today I though we would have a JC deal at the beginning of FA and then Shams dropped that bomb on us. I still think it gets done, especially since a lot of teams blew their cap space assuming John wasn't available but I want this done.
