Flying into Dallas tomorrow and driving into Waco for a night Want to pick up some Hazys for the night/next day. Any good local or Texas breweries to look out for? Also, a good bottle shop in Waco?
False Idol and Turning Point are slightly west of DFW airport and just off of 183. Celestial is just off of I-35 as you approach downtown Dallas. Those 3 can all make top notch Hazy. As far as Waco, why? Just why? Good luck.
BSR Wave Pool. Imma have to get beer in Waco. Depending on when I get in and how quickly I get a rental car, I'm not sure I have much time to stop in Dallas. I've only been once before for the same reason, but it was a day trip from Austin. Is it real that bad? I'm staying downtown next to the river. Is the entire place just Uber Baylor Christian?
The town is just overall very very meh. Imagine if you will a small city that really has no draw other than being a small city. And then you figure in that its only draw is Baylor. Not just any “christian” college but Baylor.
I've heard of Jester. Just want some thst is hopefully readily available at either at a good gas station If I can get out of the airport quick enough I'll try to check it out
Yeah. I'm not trying to party, just wants some good brews while I'm surfing. Last time it was Bud Light and I'm trying to avoid thst life. Hopefully I can make the brewery
Got two of each NEIPA/HAZY they had. Looking forward to crack em after I get this Whataburger for the first time
Treehouse Deerfield just had their pouring and entertainment license approved yesterday. you'll know where to find me.
Waiting for the Sandwich location to be able to serve beer. Although parking there is a pain because of the beach and they charge 20 bucks for that lot.
My wife just challenged me to eat half a ghost pepper from our garden so there’s that too. Getting wild on a Tuesday. Edit: I did it and this is bad
It’s just calming down now. After probably 16oz of milk. My farts are going to be tremendous around 10pm. Edit: plus there is tikka masala for dinner which is where the ghost pepper came from.
I like D96 for a local spot but there is much better beer out there…albeit harder to get. where did the head brewer go?
Drowned lands has been showing up here and while I’ve only had one of their beers, it was pretty solid.
Industrial arts makes much better beer anyway in that area to me. Since they don’t price gouge at $20/ 4 pack through their taproom I think they get overlooked a bit but their owner is an extremely talented brewer, and he’s been making ridiculous beers since his stint at Ithaca (flower power, brute were his beers for those drinking craft beer that long ago)
Hadn’t had Flower Power in forever but saw it on the menu at a bar I was drinking at in NYC a couple weekends ago. Bartender sold me one to go that I enjoyed during the US-Jamaica match. Still a really solid IPA.
