If like other clubs, directly through the club as a member. Purchase membership if necessary

 

Also Gallant Knight I would suggest making sure to check the schedules very carefully for the cups also to make sure you aren’t looking at a match that could be bumped.

I think in November you should be fine but you’ll want to be certain, last thing you want is to be near Villa Park and them playing an away cup match

 

Is there no way to just buy on the secondary market?

villa season tickets sold out with 8k+ waiting list. And the membership process is a clusterfuck that I can’t figure out. You basically have to have purchased a ticket before to register

 

My understanding is the secondary market over there is pretty dicey so I’ve only done through the club for City and Arsenal

 

Whatever they’re changing, I’m sure it’ll be met with unanimous approval and the referees will finally get the respect and admiration from the players, media, and fans

Does Villa have a USA supporters club? I would try and reach out to someone in a supporters group or with the club. You could also reach out on social media to any Birmingham-based Villa fans. Plenty of people will likely be excited to have a fan make the trip and experience Villa park. I’m sure someone can help you out.

 

Unfortunately not an EPL team at the time, but when I went to Sunderland a couple years ago I just bought tickets directly on the club website. I’m assuming this isn’t possible then?

 

No they only have hospitality tickets available and I don’t really want to pay a bunch of money to sit with rich people

You can but its tough. Read my post in Championship thread. If you want to do American style secondary market, it needs to be for a Cup/Competition match rather than a PL match. FA Cup its just paper or mobile tickets.

For PL most of the tickets are season cards like this



You would then have to mail it back to the person you purchased it from. Which is possible but complicated. You'd also need a UK mailing address or a good hotel concierge. It can be done, but not always straightforward and varies by Club. Try Stubhub, ViaGoGo, or Ticket Gum.

Another option is to sign up for team official supporters group, and then pray single game tix go on sale for your donation level.

 

Yes good point every game I went too was a paper ticket, so for the everton and Fulham games I had to get the tickets I bought from the secondary market at Will Call, for Liverpool vs Man City Champions league quarterfinal I had to literally meet a guy before the game (even thought I bought them off the secondary market) and have him hand me the tickets and Arsenal was a pass so I met the guys at a Cuban themed bar across the street and brought the pass back there after

 

Why do they have to make this so annoying

 

I'm guessing it's because if opposing fans could buy tickets in the general section there would be weekly riots.

 

main reason is to keep out opposing team hooligans, or quarantine them to their specific away section guarded by cops.

its hard to even go into a pub around Arsenal or Chelsea without actively wearing gear of the home team. Like, just wearing neutral clothes is a No. Or you will have a gigantic bouncer questioning you and give you a full body search.

I was panicked about this as well for Anfield Thanksgiving 2019. Season ticket this, return to the owner after the game that. Bought two tickets on England Stubhub (honestly it might have been stub hub) and prayed. Pick up was at a pub in downtown Liverpool. Buncha lads running a secondary market ticket business from a pub booth lol.

If and when I go back - I’ll just buy them on secondary again I think. Wasn’t a problem at all. I think all the press you read about it that makes it scary is pushed by the clubs in order to sell their match day packages. There isn’t any bite behind all the bark, as far as I can tell.

 

It’s tricky because you want to get them in before season starts but with the window still open things can change
