it probably will and that is why I am shocked he was suspended. Spitting on someone is vile but it in this case it doesn’t justify that reaction.

At least the lady talking after it didn't defend it and said they were arresting the cops. I get mad when cops do fucked up stuff, but that's going to happen. It's humans. They just have to be held accountable like everyone else.

The lumps on his head at 18:00 from being beaten with a pistol. Fuck that shit. How can someone care so little for another human? And we let them carry guns.

I don’t expect a reasonable explanation, because there isn’t one. But how does a cop wearing a camera pistol whip, hold a gun to the victims head and throat, then choke him until her can barely wheeze. The public is hyper-focused on these events now and isn’t going to let these things go any longer.

When you know the odds are quite good that you won't truly be held accountable and you're trained to assume everyone is out to kill you, these things happen.

Attempted murder charges for the first officer that shot.

Not sure what they could have possibly accomplished here, in the best case scenario. Suppose Charles was driving recklessly. Suppose he was drunk. None of that is "admissible", is it?? They can't take a neighbors word on the reckless driving, and they can't establish if he was drunk at the time he would have been driving. The very most they could do is issue a warning, or ask that he not drive recklessly, and remind him that it's illegal to drive drunk.

If you’re white and you call the cops on a poc even one that looks mixed you’re potentially condemning that person to a death sentence.

I mean, I hate busybody Karen motherfuckers needlessly calling the police on poc as much as the next person, but I'm not gonna refrain from calling the cops on someone if they're breaking into my car because they fit that description.

I don’t know what direction you want to take this discussion. We can pretend that things aren’t nuanced and that I advocated for never calling the cops or we can be honest and understand things are complicated and I never implied cops should never be called. With that said you have every right to call the cops on anyone breaking in to your car but realize that that person can lose his life because cops are trigger happy especially when it comes to poc. So in essence what you’re saying your shit is more important than a human life. That’s fine if you believe that as long as you’re honest about that.

Now back to my post that you quoted and why I said what I said. It is because of the video of a black man being shot. The cops were called on him by a racist ass Karen/Karl. He wasn’t committing a crime. That’s is why I said calling the cops on a poc is like a death sentence. It wasn’t regarding someone actively engaged in criminal activity. Your example had nothing to do with my post. If you see someone holding someone else at gun point of course you should call the cops. If you see someone trying to kidnap someone of course you should call the cops. There are tons of reasons why you should call the cops none of which have any relevance to my post and the video that led to me saying what I did.

The one police k9 I know is a violent home wrecker that the whole family is scared of. Much like every human police.

It destroys their drywall, bathroom vanity, sink/counter, doors, flooring, all kinds of shit. Allegedly the department said it has to go home and can’t live at the station. They have small kids, too.

They shouldn’t have drugs in the house. I was told that’s why they go crazy. Then again, I was also told they go just as crazy for snacks and that’s why they “find” drugs so maybe get rid of the snacks too.

I'm sure all dog K9 training is different, but my BIL is a K9 cop and he had to keep the dog crated when it wasn't working. He said the dog was trained to make equate work with play (which is kinda fucked up) and is only allowed out of the cage to eat and go to the bathroom.

In all fairness, do we know who called the police? Do we know if Charles was drunk? Do we know if he was driving recklessly?

Like I said, he could have been drunk as hell and driving like an asshole, and someone, legitimately, called the police. The issue is not (exactly) good people calling the police on people doing bad/illegal/dangerous things. It's how the police respond.

Sending the whole squad to confront someone suspected of reckless driving is completely unwarranted in any situation.

And a big part of the issue is assholes calling the police into situations they have no business being involved in.

    Holy shit

The next day, he called the parking authority, hoping to clear up the misunderstanding. A woman there said his car had apparently been “courtesy towed” from Camac to Lombard because while he was gone, his original parking space had been declared a temporary no-parking zone, reasons unknown.

“I had never heard of a ‘courtesy tow,’” said Isaacs, 61, who runs a small nonprofit that fights homelessness. “It sounds like a generous thing to do. Except they towed it to a place where it was illegal to park. And then they ticketed it, and impounded it, and put it up for auction.”

A Philadelphia courtesy tow — formally known as relocation towing — is when the Police Department, the PPA, or a private tow company moves legally parked vehicles to make room for a special event, utility work, or some other reason. The city’s failure to properly track the relocated vehicles has been a longtime problem — and one that could actually be getting worse, based on Inquirer interviews with dozens of drivers.

Every negative interaction with a cop and a black person is racist. it can be no other way.

Personally, I think there needs to be evidence of racism beyond the skin color of those involved. There is a lot of evidence that cops are racist against white people as well, by your simple logic. And, again, by your logic, denial of that fact would make you a racist.

White people are *sometimes* the victim of police brutality. You seem to have a need to push everything to an extreme, like if white people are victimized by police, then somehow that implies black people cannot be?? I am not, and I don't see anyone, saying that, but that always seems to be your interpretation. "Oh, white people are the real victims???" No....not exactly. There are no "real" or "fake" victims. There are just victims of police brutality, or not.

Your logic is just too simplistic to determine racism here. That's all. the totality of the basis of your conclusion is that the victim has dark skin. That's a good place to start, but not enough to determine that this is an incident driven by racism.

Agreed, and that's not an argument I see being made here. The argument, and question, is: what do we need to determine racism is a driving force in any interaction, but particularly with police where someone ends up getting shot or killed?

my car was courtesy towed once for construction. not a huge deal, but courtesy towing it to an illegal spot is fucked up. and honestly, you'd have to have many tickets on your car and leave it there for weeks to get it impounded. so, this primarily effects people who leave their car in a spot for weeks and never check on it which happens all the time in philly because we don't have street cleaning that forces you to move it once or twice a week. people literally leave a car parked on the street for months on end and never check on their car.

oh yeah. they just tell you it's within a 3 block radius and good luck. it's rough. honestly, though, it's not like they just courtesy tow without warning. Signs are posted for temporary no parking usually a week or so in advance. its just that, like i said, people leave there cars parked without checking them for months.
