Another RR show in the books, incredible as always. Outfit, Elephant, Cover me up, and Only children wrecked me (as was the case for most of the crowd). Even What I’ve done to help was strong and I don’t particularly care for that song. Sadler and him did a ripping Never gonna change for the encore which was fantastic. Bought the show poster as well:
Little rough, think she’s still trying to get back into playing form after her stroke. She only sang, didn’t play guitar.
Haven't read a single post itt yet, but a friend told me about Isbell a couple weeks ago. I can't believe I'm just now discovering him. 'Elephant', 'If We Were Vampires', 'Cover Me Up' (I knew that shit was too good to be Wallen's, not a big country guy so I didn't know better) are brilliant.
Sure and show me what you think it says where it says it ya big dummy. I get unnecessarily annoyed by people who cite the constitution who've clearly never read it.
Oh boy. Those are my 3 favs but there are tons of others that are some of the best songwriting you'll ever hear. Streetlights (check out the acoustic version on Youtube) Outfit TVA Decoration Day Dress Blues Something More than Free Speed Trap Town Children of Children Goddamn Lonely Love Danko/Manuel So many others.
If We Were Vampires came out right before my wedding and immediately wrecked me. Still does honestly.
It came just before I lost someone in my family tragically and unexpectedly. The prescience of death making life more meaningful was, man.
It's a healing cry man, as healthy as it gets. Isbell's got a talent for making you relate like almost no other artist I've ever heard.
Man, you’re one lucky bastard getting to experience it all at once right now. Goddamn Lonely Love has gotten me through some hard times but it’s something I revisit now in good times.
First time I listened to Hope and The High Road I was in a bad place and just sobbed at my desk. was a fun time
I lost a good friend / Christmas time when folks go off the deep end / His woman took the kids and he took Klonopin / Enough to kill a man of twice his size // Not for me to understand / Remember him when he was still a proud man? / A vandal's smile, a baseball in his right hand / Nothing but the blue sky in his eye
