Every big city has some weird collection of rich, vaguely racist, white weirdos that do something like this I think. In Memphis, we have the Secret Order of the Boll Weevils.
This was published two years ago, I wonder how it went under the radar for so long https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.st...52b7a18b-d4e4-557d-9c39-70a2d4ed0554.amp.html
Yeah, this person's mad about it: https://www.theroot.com/ellie-kemper-who-appeared-on-tv-show-that-actually-sta-1847006577 Wonder what Titus Burgess has said about working with her?
Kemper was born in Kansas City, Missouri,[1] the second of four children of Dorothy Ann "Dotty" (née Jannarone) and David Woods Kemper, a son of one of the wealthiest families in Missouri.[2][3] Her father was the chairman and CEO of what is today Commerce Bancshares, a bank holding company founded by the Kemper family. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Lane Kemper, namesake of the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis. Ellie is the great-great-granddaughter of banker, insurance man, and railroad magnate William Thornton Kemper Sr. Is what it is looks like. You come from money in Missouri, where you think it came from
For the longest time my best friend was my grandmother. And then she met Harriet. And now she thinks she’s better than everybody
I like him as Tony, but I think that would have been a bigger disaster than Spader was to most people. I liked 8 a lot ftr.
I would have liked to see what Gandolfini would have done with the part, provided that they didn't ask him to play an Italian mobster type (that would absolutely have been a disaster).
In the oral history book, they talked about how part of the appeal was that Gandolfini desperately didn't want to be known as Tony Soprano anymore, but also that he didn't really know how he would play a comedic role like the boss in the office. It would've been more as a one for one replacement for Carrell, as opposed to Spader coming in but running Sabre and then Andy getting bumped up to regional manager. They did all that on the fly when Spader committed to a whole season instead of an arc. "We were excited by this idea of this really sort of salt-of-the-earth, intense, passionate guy who could also be your father figure and your biggest supporter, but also turn around and be the scariest person you've ever seen in your life, and just bite your head off about something. We just felt like the sort of range that James had was very exciting to us."
Since this has been coming up on every podcast lately: Jim/ Pam proposal - with audio or without? Team without.
I still enjoy it but can see how they’re annoying to some people. The few behind the scene stories and interviews w the other cast members makes it worth it to me.
I check every so often to see if they have good guests and definitely will listen to those episodes. Otherwise I much prefer both of Brian’s podcasts
The good outweighs the bad imo but the bad can be pretty awful. I find myself FF’ing through a lot of it when they go on their stupid tangents.
I tolerate the schtick for the behind the scenes stuff, which is pretty good. They know their audience and they play to it. The ongoing theme of reading a fan question about if a scene was improved and delivering the answer of no as if it was a shocker every single time is the most annoying thing.
Listening to Fresh Air featuring BJ Novak. Started crying multiple times when asked about the finale / finishing the show. Pretty cool how he and mindy got the roles
just about finished with my first ever, full watch. have always previously rewatched seasons 1-5, parts of 6, 7, and then the final two episodes. some really really bad (by office standards) episodes in those later years, but a.a.r.m and the finale remain some of the best closing episodes of a long running show that i can remember.
I just turned the office on peacock on my main tv for the first time and the higher resolution compared to Netflix is wild.
the peacock episodes are cut differently too. there are some scenes there that I didn’t see on netflix. they also have some extended cut “superfan” episodes
