The school board where my wife went to speak said they're going back to the practices they did last year, except for full masking, which will be "highly encouraged". At least that's something. My wife did say there were two crazy anti-mask/vaccine people there. One your typical MAGA and then one hippie/holistic lady.
Mom is a nurse at a Sarasota (FL) hospital. Called me today to tell me it's worse than it ever was at any point in the last 1.5 years. They've had to rent out a hotel because all their hospital beds are full of Covid patients. Confirmed what news outlets have said that 99% are unvaccinated.
a guy who was my friend from about 2009-2017, but I haven't talked to in a few years died from covid today. he refused the vaccine. it's the closest death I've had but It's obviously 100% preventable. I mostly just feel bad for his kids.
One who was vaccinated might die but he was extremely high risk because he had uncontrolled diabetes, a kidney transplant and is very overweight in his 50s. He's vaccinated but I kind of don't really consider him as such. The rest were unvaccinated idiots
My in-laws had it last year. That’s the extent of the people I knew in 2020 that had COVID. Half of my department and a half dozen people I regularly talk to have had it in the last month. If we started with Delta, I think we would’ve gotten slaughtered.
I knew one guy who got fairly sick and was vaccinated. He was never admitted or anything but he got the antibodies shot thing
Holy shit, someone needs to put that on Twitter so you can avoid going through Facebook. You know there are probably hundreds of inbred dipshits like this there, hopefully a ton of them die without infecting anyone else.
I will say, even though the dude who owned the restaurant we went to together was apparently a dumbass, it’s still hitting me super hard because all of my friends aren’t.
I was pretty confused about the age difference in that couple until I reread it assuming it’s father and daughter.
The speech Lauren Boebert gave at CPAC where she mocked a “fauci ouchie” lives rent free in my head and makes me want to throw her in a wood chipper.
If COVID doesn't kill her, she's going to have an early death from debilitating back problems in her near future.
I tacitly implied anyone else as being those who wouldn't be MAGA anti-vax dipshits. I'm guessing if 90% of the Sturgis attendees last year and this year no longer existed then the US would be far better off for it.
That's what I thought. Someone comes in for hernia surgery and they test them for covid for good measure?
Personal responsibility is paying off in spades in Texas. Like literal shovel spades. To dig graves. Fuck.
Probably not testing is my guess. Though, I believe that is the county in Alabama with highest rate of people with at least one jab.
Ny had its first day of a decrease in the 7 day average case #s since June according to worldometers. Only 3 less but better than up, hopefully signs the wave is sputtering and won’t come close to our january #s. My uncle on my dads side (NY, vaxed) and aunt/cousin on my moms (NC, unvaxxed) all got covid last week. I haven’t had a family member get it since March last year when covid went wild in NY to kick this thing off. I think all are looking ok now at least
On another note... I got bored and started reading some KKK stuff, feels like history is probably repeating itself https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...used-christianity-to-revive-the-ku-klux-klan/ "Simmons believed Christianity supported white supremacy, Kelly J. Baker, author of the book, “The Gospel According to the Klan,” said in an interview. “He and other Klan leaders would look to Christianity to find support for racism. Even liberal Protestant churches supported white supremacy. That seemed the natural order of things. Just as people used biblical texts to support slavery.”
I don't see why they wouldn't roll those out still though, right? I know Pfizer announced this month they were already starting research on a booster for the Delta variant and Moderna has been in the midst of researching lower dosage boosters that targeted the South African strain. I'd hope all that isn't going to come to fruition because the Biden admin is trying to get people to get shots of the original vaccine.
we had a poster nearly die from covid that died months later. None of us think it was covid, just sad.
Poster in late 30s and supposedly good shape got covid and was hospitalized He died around a month ago at least and obit didn’t mention covid or anything else, was a war veteran . Idk, feel kinda shitty even talking about it as I didn’t know him.
I met him, good dude. What Gunners said is true, he was absent from the board for about a month and one of the other guys was FB friends with him. When his absence was noted they checked his feed. He had passed shortly after going awol. Nobody wants to be that guy and reach out to inquire about what happened but the obit said passed in his home with no other details. He had COVID but it was months prior if I remember. He never said anything about his health after initially talking about testing positive.
We also have another MIA poster who’s not responded to any attempts at reaching out. He had a rough go of it for a long time and that one feels as concerning as Grifter but in a much more unsettling way.
