Lady! They can be irritating for most of the podcast, but the few stories about the filming or behind the scenes makes it worth it
Feel like they could cut the episodes down to 30 minutes if they didn’t go on so many stupid tangents.
That’s what the majority of subscribers want. They’re there to cream over every word out of their mouths.
Comedy podcasts I like that haven't been mentioned much: Superego (so good!) Hello from the Magic Tavern Dr Gameshow
Been listening to The Experiment a lot lately. It's an offshoot of Radiolab but more current issue/political issue focused. Very much the same style where they go through the history of an issue and the current implications. Highly highly recommended.
I've been listening to hours upon hours of smartless. Hayes doesn't add much but bateman and arnett are awesome
siap... Sammy has posted several one-off videos on his youtube channel in the last couple of months. I guess similar to the podcast content. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2qsQ8pUNhhANzMIy6kha2w/videos
I knew exactly how this episode was going to end from the first minute or so, but I’m still mad at it. They know we know what happened and just want to hear the story and they’re toying with our emotions.
Appreciate whoever mentioned "Fall Of Civilizations". Just listened to the one about the fall of the Late Bronze Age. Amazing the "Sea Peoples" could topple so many civilizations and end an entire time period yet have so little known about them.
I love both seasons. Very interested to see how this one plays out. I pretty much listen to the episodes as soon as they drop
apparently the story has been well-covered for true crime people, but i had no idea about what happened going in. great series, great payoff. would recommend it also has a great theme song
It’s been a while since I read it but iirc - it was a bunch of different groups. Some from Crete, some from Sicily ect. Eastern Mediterranean
Absolutely regarding the theme song. The cadence of the storytelling, the production, the theme music…. It’s just so well done. im avoiding spoilers as much as possible here. Going to wait until it’s over to dive in. although I like crime shit, I hate it when it’s presented poorly. Neil and his team fucking nail it
Trying to listen to LPOTL for the first time. The information is interesting but holy shit are these guys annoying.
First time I listened to them I didn’t listen to them again for 6 months, I would say I had a similar reaction. Also hope you didn’t start with anything in their first 100 episodes because it’s pretty much all garbage.
Word I can still understand finding them annoying, but I enjoy it as a change of pace to Mike Duncan, Hardcore History, Tides of History ect…
I tried to listen to the one they did on the USS Indianapolis and was like 30 minutes in and they hadn't said anything substantive yet.
Didn't Dan Carlin do either an episode about the Indianapolis or spend a long time during one of the SuperNova episodes about it?
Firebug is awesome. thanks for the recommendation. Crazy that this story and the Live and Die in LA season 2 are both in Glendale area
Key Battles of American History is good if you like the History Unplugged style. The Guadalcanal series is excellent if you're into that
Lol the new Our Thing isn't allowing me to skip forward or backwards, because of "invalid file headers" Literally it's all been building to this episode
listened to To Live and Die in LA season 2. I have to stop listening to these types of podcasts. I need closure.
same. hardest part for me is not googling the case to see whats going on. i always wait until i'm finished with the podcast/book/article before i start diving deeper. pretty painful with season 2. pretty sure a new episode is dropping this week.
it's odd that he recorded this in 2017, but is just releasing now? events of season 1 happened after events of this season. Also, he keeps saying it's active so I doubt there will be some (if any) closure to this.
