I can't remember the links, but the projections were $500 a night per person only a few months ago.

IDC, I'll pay it and do it sometime in the near future anyway.

At that price they’re going to have to really pull off the immersion, which I’m skeptical of.

There are monorail hotels more expensive than $500 a night. It was always going to become the most expensive room on property (not named bungalow or presidential suite)

I saw something that said these prices are basically for 1.5 days and 2 nights. Arrive on Day 1 around 1pm, Day 2 is all day, then depart around 9am on Day 3.

I'm all in with people who sit down in the middle of the row for continuously running shows and then make everyone crawl over them. Correctly guessing when to enter the room so you end up in the middle is an art form.

So much for Disney being better than universal when it comes to shameless price gouging.

If Genie+ is $15pp, I imagine high demand rides will be $5pp. But I'm probably gonna end up being way off

That's a... Huge turn off. Big ticket prices, plus extra to ride some rides quicker, and then extra to ride additional rides quicker. Really unappealing for me.

Waiting for the option to buy your way on rise of the resistance, then that turning into the only way to be able to get a spot

    You will.

Rise will be way more than $5.

The language isn’t terribly clear but it seems like you don’t have to purchase Genie+ to get access to the higher demand rides, so I could see rise being $30-$40 by itself.

If you're flying here from Brazil and staying on property, an extra $50 for lines isn't going to stop you.

There's just no price sensitivity anymore with how much demand there is for the product.

    Sucks for us.

Yea, a lot of theme parks do it. I was at Carrowinds a few years back up in Charlotte and it was the same kinda deal.

But Disney's just way more busy than other parks, and I imagine they'll have more people upgrading. Curious to see how it works.

For sure. I'm just curious to implementation details.

If more people upgrade than don't, it would seem to me all you've done is move the lines. There's a weird game theory to it.

Otoh, if it's just fast pass that you have to pay for.. it'll probably work pretty well.

Very interested to see what they do to hopefully fix the Rise queue situation.

Also, as an aside, my younger sister is a travel advisor for Disney through a third party. If anyone is interested in using her, it’s at no cost to you, and she would help organize and plan everything. Send me a PM if interested.

My hope is that it becomes more like maxpass at Disneyland where not a lot of people get it so that way there are less people in fastpass so the standby line moves faster

If someone just dropped $10,000 and spent an entire day to travel to Disney, then I suspect you could charge them damn near anything.

    $100 no line starwars? Ok.

Important to remember that Florida locals make up half of Disneyworld attendance right now, though that will decrease as more covid-related travel restrictions ease. Still, less likely to splurge more. Disneyland is even more local.

In theory, the Genie+ could help the standby line wait times if they do a good job of spreading out available times for those with G+

Curious what the cost of a LL pass for Rise will be. I've seen rumors of $50. The ability to purchase a pass will probably make it even harder for those trying to get a virtual queue pass.

I don’t have a family but ain’t no fucking way I’d be paying $50 per person, especially if I had a large family. I don’t care how much money I have.

So now we have to pay to park a vehicle while staying at their hotels

    no more complimentary magic bands?

now you have to pay for fast passes?

you are right and the family of 5 from Iowa that has saved up for years for this trip and is doing it the “Disney way” by shelling out thousands to stay on their property and buy all the souvenirs, eat at their restaurants etc won’t be dissuaded from spending an extra $500, but Disney is just jacking up the fees. Sadly though as I get on my soapbox about the hotel prices…no matter what Disney charges, people will pay

They continue to push the DVC narrative more and more. The guaranteed revenue and visitation makes running a business a lot easier than putting all your eggs in the random visit travel basket. Theyre even converting an existing building of normal hotel rooms at Grand Floridian to a new DVC building in the coming year.

The prices for hotels are ridiculous yet always full

ticket prices are a joke yet park is always full

now they are lifting us all up and shaking us to get any extra change we have left in our pockets with all these new fees

The problem is hotels haven’t been full, especially at the most expensive resorts. They’re going for major discounts on third party sites lately. Hence the move toward making them DVC. Disney no longer has to be sensitive to short term demand issues that way.

I was referring to pre Covid

you see certain hotels going for 2K a night when you don’t even spend much time in your room since you are paying a fortune for the parks, yet people pay it

Yea, we actually use the heck out of it. We're close by and its a weekend kinda thing when the mrs or I are stressed out.

But with the price increases the resale value on it is probably 10% to 20% higher than what we paid. Thats pretty absurd for a time share.
