He’s arguably my all time favorite contestant, so I’m biased but it fits him and his personality so well. He’s also already in LA.
If this stuff is enough to keep him from the host chair, why is he still EP? And I thought communing started yesterday, how are they going to handle that?
Austin Rogers had a podcast he did for a little while back in 2020 and he had Buzzy on a couple of episodes. You should give it a listen if you haven’t already.
I didn’t watch Levar during his run as the Olympics were on. Was he any good or is this just a nostalgia play?
He was ok. From the ringer article “Some viewers have called into question the treatment of two of last season’s most popular guest hosts, LeVar Burton and Ken Jennings. In Burton’s case, fans have complained that the Reading Rainbow star was given just a week’s worth of episodes—filmed in the space of a single tape day—compared to the two weeks afforded to most of the other candidates. Burton’s supporters have also pointed out that his episodes aired in the midst of the Summer Olympics, which caused some to be preempted on NBC affiliate stations and may have contributed to lackluster ratings. Through a representative, Burton declined to comment.”
I know Joe Buck only got a week. I am sure a few others did. Levar probably should have gone a few months ago instead of all the Good Morning America and morning show anchors came in. They were pretty uninspired. And don't forget Dr. Oz. I don't think "ratings" matter as they can easily be explained away.
Joe Buck was probably the best and that’s not coming from a fan of his LaVar Burton was terrible on all levels. Couldn’t read the questions well, very monotone, etc.
This dude had such a kush gig going as EP, very under the radar. He decides he wants to try to host, then he crushes it and gets the gig. Cancel culture comes for him and takes it all away. He flew too close to the sun.
just remembered that the dailymotion account that hosted years and years of episodes of jeopardy got removed :( , does anyone know if it migrated anywhere?
The story with that was Ken had a scheduling conflict that he and the show's staff could've easily worked around, but Richards stepped in and said, "No, no. Covid complication, I'm hosting for two weeks."
in a way, I love dominant champs. In other ways, I feel bad for the losing contestants. And consistent run-aways are a bit of a buzz kill. Hope he gets to a million then loses
