Btw, Norway is interesting right now. They're just exactly what you'd expect from them in summer Olympics as a team. 99% of their athletes are just kinda there, waiting for their country's time to shine which is winter Olympics. Except for 2 random white dudes who are complete generational+ talents in their very specific races that black guys have dominated for decades. Just find it unusual.
Finke was awesome. His ability to close made for amazing TV. I know they won gold but USA mens b-ball didn't have the magic of the past. Maybe it's because I am older, but this year really felt like they rolled the ball out and relied on the fact that they had 4 of the 5 best players on the court at all times. Zero cohesion that the past teams had which allowed them to steamroll opponents.
It’s all super interesting. Dude from India just took down maybe the best javelin thrower ever. An Italian (of course born in Texas) is the fastest man on earth. An American woman got a medal in the marathon. I find it all fascinating. We got the Prefontaine classic in two weeks btw, tons of champions and medalists will be there!
Part of that is probably because those guys have only had 2 months off in the last year, in the middle of a global pandemic. That’s the recipe for burnout.
Anyone want to get real triggered, real fast? https://ragstock.com/shop/2012-london-olympics-archery-t-shirt/
As someone who only watched one water polo match, that event sounds like a lazier version of synchronized swimming
Chinese netizens have been adding Taiwan's medal count to their own to surpass the US and then posting pics of the new medal table and it's so wonderfully pathetic. https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/4266780
Athing Mu is unreal, going to be one of the GOATs. Fuckin' Lyles, feel if he didn't fuck around in Japan and got himself a good lane he would have won gold. Idk what's up with Bromell.
Fresh Athing in better conditions can go sub 1:54, probably before next years world championships. Lyles was struggling prior to Japan, peaked the year prior like Brazier but this was awesome to see him back in form. Brommell gotta be battling an injury. His starts are just not where they were earlier in the year.
