Been to the one in uptown but not since I moved back. I go to Leevers Locavore a lot and they haven’t let me down yet, but figured I’d branch out.

Locavore always works for me. I’ve been to western daughters a few times but can’t really vouch for it as I never buy anything too interesting. ARCO might know

I would also recommend Leevers Locavore in the highlands. River Bear cuts there.

Anybody else tried the yakitori offerings at Uncle’s Wash Park location? Had it a couple weeks ago, and it was fabulous.

Went back again tonight with some friends who are big yakitori fans, but they unexpectedly weren’t doing it this week.

My guess is they’re workshopping / prepping for a potential yakitori only concept. Good read on their initial foray into last winter with an omakase experience: https://303magazine.com/2020/12/uncle-yakitori-omakase-denver/

Haven’t had that at that location, where I have only been once. Love uncle tho

My friend hiking the Colorado Trail said he was on a portion of a 100 mile race trail. He came upon an aid station where they had burgers and uncle for the runners. And whiskey for the volunteers. Needless to say, I definitely plan to volunteer for this race next year.

Elk meadow and 3 sisters in evergreen likely won’t be too crowded. Good reason to drive out to evergreen as a newbie

This was a nice hike for me and Dierks to do as our first Colorado mountain. Went back about 3.5 miles, no snakes and the views were awesome.

Hey Denver bros, I’ll be in town for Labor Day. Doing some concerts out in Commerce City, so we’re staying closer to the airport. This is our 4th year doing this, so we’ve got things pretty well figured out but wanted to get some suggestions from y’all.

For dispensaries I’ve always done Dank or Good Chemistry, and have really enjoyed both. Mostly interested in carts and edibles, but I’m not opposed to bringing flower back either. If you’ve got anything in the Colfax area or close by, I’d appreciate the heads up.

We’ll load up on beers at Cerebral, get sandwiches at Olive and Finch, and have usually gotten tacos at Los Carboncitos.

In short, if you’ve got anything to add for weed, beer, sandwiches, and tacos it would be greatly appreciated and likes will be justly awarded.

    Thanks dudes!

Can’t go wrong with Cerebral but if you’re mobile I highly recommend New Image. The brewery is up in Olde Town Arvada but I always find their stuff at Molly’s when I’m in town. They have a solid line up of hazies that I think are up there with Cerebral.

can you be more specific about your ability to move around? Are you mainly going to be hanging by your place near the airport? Sounds like you aren't looking to pow around Denver, but instead are staying near the Colfax area East of downtown?

We’ve got a rental car and will be spending most of the day in Denver proper before heading to the venue around 4:00 each afternoon. Staying at the Gaylord Rockies Resort. We typically don’t go west of downtown. A lot of time spent in the area around the zoo, five points, etc.

Food/Drink: can't go wrong with Denver Biscuit Company for breakfast. There are two locations kind of near where you'll be - one off Colfax and one in Stanley Marketplace, which is a cool place in itself. The beer hall at Stanley has a good selection as well. Great Divide in Five Points has good beer also. For Mexican food, you really can't go wrong with most of the places off Colfax/towards Aurora.

Weed: I usually go to L'Eagle off Quivas (near 6th and I-25). Good selection of edibles and their flower is grown without the use of pesticides. Really friendly employees as well.

Weed: I'd generally just trust reviews. All the dispensaries I visit are in the Highlands.

Callie's Cannabis Shoppe RiNo (used to be called Botanico) was my RiNo go-to in 2016 or so.

Beer: plenty of good bars: PS Lounge, horseshoe lounge, Thin Man, Wyman's etc.

Breweries: Woods Boss, Blackshirt, Spangalang, Cerebral (of course)

Sandwiches: Leven Deli (more of a sit down), Lou's Italian, Tessa Deli, Curtis Park Deli (my fave)

Tacos: La Pasadita Inn, Tacos El Ranchito, La Abeja

    Burrito: La Abeja

    Pizza: Walter's 303, White Pie

Ice Cream: Smith + Canon or Lik's

Coffee/Breakfast: Jelly Cafe, Onefold, City o City, Weathervane, Rosenbergs, Spices cafe, Denver Biscuit Co (will be very busy)

other: always heard good stuff about Little Beast for beer and street food. Haven't gone.

The wife and I fly in to Denver Thursday morning. We’re staying at The Gaylord by the airport and was hoping to get out to Red Rocks and New Terrain brewing after we check in. Figured that would be the least crowded day. We aren’t getting a rental car. Is there any better way to get out there other than Uber/Lyft?

Light rail can get you close to New Terrapin. You’ll likely have to Uber to RR.

This is a tough issue. The park is absolutely overrun by homeless and is just a place to avoid. It used to be a cool park with food trucks and shit.

but where are these people gonna go? And how is that gonna impact neighboring areas?

Homeless sweeps are an easy way for politicos to be "doing something" that's low cost, low effort, appeals to the donor base, and accomplishes fuck all. Actually helping these people would actually require politicos to work.

I’ve stayed at The Curtis, Grand Hyatt, Hilton City Center, Kimpton Monaco, and the Crawford. All get the job done and are varying levels of ‘luxury’. Most of those are within a few blocks of each other downtown whereas the Ramble is RiNo and better located to the local bar/restaurant scene.

Kimpton is nice - you’ll be a ~10 min walk away from Larimer Square, Union Station, and LoDo which is kind of bro-ey but some good bars/restaurants. RiNo is a short scooter ride or ride share away.

My biggest gripes a bit over a month in the city are all traffic and car related

Drivers are reckless, running lights, speeding and terrible etiquette

Loud motorcycles, tuned cars, lifted/trucks on the highways or down streets, revving their engines and zooming by

    And trucks rolling coal

Just an absurd amount of stupidity that seems not to be enforced by police officers

Buddy you hit the nail on the head. The only thing you missed is the amount of shitty drivers from Texas. The amount of sun and overall decent weather we get in the winter makes it all worth it.

Fucking hell, I knew I wasn't in high altitude shape, didn't think I was this bad though. Hiked 1.1 miles up a trail near Berthoud Pass, high enough to be in cloud coverage which was an experience in itself. Had to catch my breath every 50 yards while Dierks just cruised along - he's now passed out in the back of the car.

    I'm beat.
