You may want to wait a year to sell if you don’t have a major preference- you’ll incur capital gains if you hold MORE than a year, less than a year you’ll pay your income tax rate on any gains instead, which is often higher than cap gains but it depends on your tax rate.

    This.

Get an accountant. I've been told so much conflicting and contradicting information about which events are taxable, if at all. The safest thing to do is put 30% of your earnings in a stable coin after you sell until it's time to pay taxes.

Unless you make over $440k / year your long term capital gains rate is 15%

So if you hold eth shares for over 1 year before selling you'll pay 15% vs 30%-ish (guessing) - as the previous poster(s) have pointed out anything held under 1 year is taxed the same as your income tax rate.

If you get a really good accountant you might want to sell
losses off before end of year and rebuy, number of different factors

I should probably diversify. I have Chainlink on Coinbase, but not much (~$300), so it wouldn't even show up on this. Curious what everyone else is at. This screenshot is from Celsius. I wish I had Solana or Cardano, but didn't buy into the hype. Was scared of another FCT.

It’s not like ETH is a bad investment, but diversifying a bit probably wouldn’t be too terrible

Tough to beat the feeling of grabbing an Altcoin before a big run

I'm hoping Polygon(Matic) makes a run. In the past, it ran a week or two after ETH made a big run.

Funny how the conversation has gone from what will be the next BTC to what will become the next ADA or ETH. While ETH obviously has a ton of usage, it’s obviously a waiting game to 2.0, and ADA hasn’t even released smart contracts

Was a matter of time after the ETH pump

Expect it to continue as we get closer to 2.0 and eventually have it’s release

The news. There have been random negative articles out on him the last ~10 days; primarily spreading BS about the btc adoption.

Dictators don’t typically adopt monetary standards that they can’t control, but what do I know.

He and his party have a supermajority. Consider me not surprised that he’s pushing through whatever he wants. More importantly, I don’t give a shit about what he does. His btc position/experiment is relevant to this. Not sure why you think we’d care about his position on judges.

For something actually relevant I’ll help you out :

so yes you're just adopting his framing as defense and why it was very smart of him to become the cool young dictator for PR purposes

What Bukkele framing did I adopt in that post?

Call him a dictator all you want; doesn’t change the fact that he’s adopting a monetary standard he can’t control.

i prefer old ones so they die sooner

but they mostly all adopt pretty aggressive PR campaigns, you see it with Putin and his shirtless horse back riding adventures while he murders dissidents and media, etc. turning your hat backwards and TO THE MOON crypto branding is just the millenial version.

    "random" "negative" "hit pieces"

not to mention the dismantling of democracy framed as "doing whatever he wants due to his supermajority" as if it's at worst a neutral scenario

it's very much his framing of the situation

It's awful economics to build your nations currency around a fluctuating commodity you dont control.

The same reason countries got off the gold standand

I’m interested in what they’re doing as a country related to btc. I don’t give a shit about how he runs the country. I said that above and am not sure I could be more clear about it.

They won’t be the last country to do this. Open monetary systems don’t care who he is. That’s kind of the point.

So Solana is at $180 now. I should have bought when it went up to $80 and was complaining about missing the boat.
